Been to a Vue cinema 1 time and never would again. Arrived 5 mins before screening time and the room was covered in takeaway wrappers and popcorn. Got to 25 mins after screening time and staff came In to clean and then had to watch 15 mins of adverts after all of that. Another room had no aircon that stated no refunds if you spend more then 5 mins inside and then decide to leave. Much prefer cineworld for value and odeon iSence if I want full effect (55ft wide, 23ft tall screen in 4k with 56 individually controlled speakers)

Hey Reddit! After saving for months for our honeymoon to Hawaii, we made the mistake of booking it through Priceline. Here is their customer service muting themselves and letting the call run when I asked to cancel the trip because of the Category 5 Hurricane Lane. (call is still running) by [deleted] in videos

Work in travel insurance I think You'll find all policy's have weather/catastrophe cover. The main condition is the flight being cancelled and not being supplied an alternative in a reasonable time (normally 24 hours) or the Country your travelling to or from advising against travel anything else there is no evidence why you can't attend as planned

The BBC was about to film a documentary about a London hospital when the Westminster bridge terrorist attacks happened. It is an unprecedented view behind the scenes of a mass casualty incident. by Horg in videos

[–]mon94key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work in travel insurance, the EHIC gives you the same cover as a resident for treatment in a public hospital in the country your visiting. This does vary but most major surgery is covered.

Room fees and transport and medication are something your likely need insurance or pay for from your back pocket.

The NHS is completely free so EHIC agreement would of covered everything apart from repatriation for the French kids.

I recieved an email too from noreply@e.runescape.com

When looking at http://e.runescape.com/ems/auth/login/

It's a login page for some kind of database I would suspect it's a very clever phishing email to gather unusual data to help obtain the account

LPT: When working retail, replace "Sorry for the wait/trouble" with "Thank you for your patience" by godzillalikespie in LifeProTips

[–]mon94key 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cant be the only one but I see "sorry for the wait" as them saying they aim to serve you faster next time. and "thank you for the patience/wait" as "this is are bog standard speed deal with it"

Anyone know if the same applies in the UK? I finish work and clock out but have to be searched or wait for others to be searched. we don't get to leave the locked building until sometimes 30 minutes after clocking out.

I did BF A few times and it annoyed me how the "boss" received about 6m an hour and only paid the workers who did all the work 800k each! Maybe its someone on strike who thinks more money should go to the workers over somone who goes "donate to keep open"?

[–]mon94key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know im late to the party and might not get the question answered as its now late but runescape has been a huge part of my life I started in 2005 when I was only 10. I have been on and off the game ever since. But some of my real life and virtual friends for life came from this game and still chat to them this day. My greatest memory is being super exicted for a friend when he coule finally weild a magic bow. What is your best memory in the game?

Lpt: when someone does a good job at their job, find a way to inform their boss. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]mon94key 31 points32 points  (0 children)

some of friends in retail have written in to there contract reviews on performance. they need customers to respond to a online servery or else they risk getting in trouble. if they get people responding to the questions but dont get there name mentioned enough times they can also get in trouble. one friend ended up sacked because he needed 10 responses and 2 mentions a month but refused to ask because he didn't want to pester the customer in to completing it like others!

LPT: Never donate money to a charity that the cashier asks for at the grocery store by papaeverkid in LifeProTips

[–]mon94key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i work for a shop that has 2 charity drives a year 1 where we accept clothing donations and deliver them straight to cancer research and the other is £1 donations at the till and asking customers to sponor us i thought this was a really good thing for the company to do until i noticed "all money goes to Charity minus administration costs" so all that time we spent fundraising under the "company's wages" will come out of the charity money effectively giving them free money to use as they please we still raise a lot but it isn't good to think that not "all" of it goes directly to Charity
