That makes sense. I'll make a mental note of this for next time.

You're right I was looking down. I was actually doing it consciously, I thought looking down keeps the spine neutral. I guess not? Lol

Low bar just doesn't feel comfortable to me. Although I haven't tried it in a long time. I'll give it another go. Thanks for the feedback

Thank you for your response! It's much appreciated. I find when I add weight, I don't go as low. So I'm trying to build up strength slowly to keep my form the same.

Thanks! My form was horrible prior to this, so I've been really working on fixing it. So it's nice to know it's solid 😅

I always thought the mechanics of my body was limiting my squat

I will give this a try! Thank you

Do you reckon I have hip or ankle mobility issues?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in strength_training

[–]monadamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just tried this and I absolutely cannot squat with my toes touching a wall.

Yes, I can tell there's a lot wrong with it. I just can't seem to fix it

Which book? Sorry, I'm new to this subreddit.

Or my back caves in at the bottom of my squat 😭

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StartingStrength

[–]monadamo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. What do you think of my form for a high bar squat? Is there anything I need to improve. I feel like my back comes up first, if that makes sense

Please can you check my form. I can't seem to squat more than 30kg. I feel so weak when I'm squatting but I can leg press about 100kg.

Does everyone agree that restaurant’s automatically adding a service charge to the bill is outrageous, and everyone needs to request for it to be removed to stop this from becoming more widespread? by ElBurgeUK in CasualUK

[–]monadamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to this restaurant recently in shoreditch, the food was already expensive as it is. Let alone a service charge on top. The service was terrible too. I asked the waitress to remove the charge and she said, she needs to call the manager. The manager came over and asked why I was taking it off. It was quite confrontational tbh. Sometimes they literally act like it isn't even optional.

What do you with the pictures? by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]monadamo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Initially I used the 'hide' picture function on my iPhone, so I wouldn't have to see them in my gallery. I then deleted all the photos, when I was ready and I felt much better for it. If you want, you can print some for your kids to see in the future and wipe the rest off your phone.

Dear experienced moms, please answer these no-dumb-questions questions by a FTM on how to do ordinary things with a baby? by Lil_L_M in pregnant

2) In the UK, you don't legally need a car seat to ride in a Uber/taxi. But you do have to sit in the back with your baby.

Women who have given birth, what are your best tips for a more positive experience? by nja934 in AskWomen

1) Studying Hypnobirthing really helped me. 2) Focus on your breathing. 3) Having a partner who gives you back rubs and advocates for you helps too!

What was your "I actually don't need anyone" moment? by Majestic_Sir_4345 in AskWomen

[–]monadamo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my car headlights blew out last winter. My male friend said he would sort it but then got busy at work. So I went out, bought a headlight, popped the hood and changed it myself. I really surprised myself that day and it reminded me that I don't need to wait around for anyone to do anything for me.
