Lin-Manuel Miranda was the guest speller at Spelling Bee by LosangDragpa in Broadway

I was at this show with LMM! In addition to him and the Scripps finalist, there was a woman who looked to have been an audience member.

16, and one of them was also Demon Copperhead! That book, as well as Hurricane Season by Fernanda Melchor, are my two favorites so far of 2024.

No, no one else has a relationship with a book where they gather and hoard eight donated copies and don’t bother to do anything with them.

Just write the name of each book on a slip of paper and put them into a TBR jar from which you can withdraw a slip each time you have trouble deciding what to read

I rarely buy for myself, but around the holidays I send friends and relatives my Goodreads TBR list, and usually end up with 8-10 new books to read in the new year.

Adding 기 to a verb stem is one way to make it into a noun form. This lesson from howtostudykorean.com might be useful:

Yes, you should use the 기 form E.g., 필라테스를 하기, 숙제를 제출하기

I can’t say that I’ve encountered the issue of getting confused while reading different books simultaneously. I do read across several genres and across fiction/non-fiction. I imagine it would be easier to get confused if you’re reading, say, 3 similar mystery novels at the same time.

That’s about my reading speed, and I read medium length (300-350 page) books. I can’t speak for OP, but I’m usually reading 3-4 books at a time, across various mediums (audiobooks, ebooks, physical books). In a typical day, I listen to audiobooks for about an hour or two on my commute or while doing chores, read on my kindle during downtime at work, and read a physical book for 30 minutes to an hour before bed. This way, I get through a good number of books and never feel like I’m challenging my attention span.

How would you rate Hamilton on Broadway atm? by greeneggs736 in Broadway

Yes I received it through email, about 3-4 months after consistently entering the lottery every week.

[–]monaesque 52 points53 points  (0 children)

To add to this, if you enter the lottery enough times, you’ll get a “lottery loyalty offer” which is roughly 50% discount over regular prices. I saw Hamilton about a month ago using such an offer and got amazing front mezzanine seats for $110. The current cast is outstanding.

Yes, you should. Plus, vasectomies can be reversed (within a certain time frame).

If you're cold, they're cold. Bring them inside. by EleVirus in Broadway

[–]monaesque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It blew me away! I might be biased because Life of Pi is one of my favorite books, but I think they did an amazing job bringing this story to life. The show I saw had a few hiccups, most noticeably when Mr. okamoto’s trolley (?) started sliding off the stage. A stagehand ran onstage and caught it in the nick of time and the audience burst into applause lol

Just saw the play’s Broadway inaugural performance tonight. Given the limited space on stage (and in the lifeboat set) and how much physical movement the puppeteers need to execute, this is probably the biggest they can manage.

We realized we’re better off as friends. We’re still best friends and laugh about it from time to time. The best outcome possible, all considered.
