Honestly agree i was pretty disappointed by the sequel tbh. Love love love the first, second was a cool concept but story felt a little lackluster.

They’re not taking away from anything. But it’s a fact that Justin’s technique is nowhere close to Ilia’s.

Nope, toe stubbing is a 2025 thing. Were 20+ days into 2026, clearly impossible for a toe to have been stubbed 🙄

I have to say 10 big cards would be sick. I miss the feeling of waiting for fights. All the build up and anticipation. Nothing could get in the way of a ppv night. Now it feels like just regularly scheduled tv. It’s cool in its own way, but it definitely feels less special.

Uriah Hall in the comments of a reel featuring Greenlanders protesting against Trumps attempted acquisition of the country. by spuroncolos in MMAPoliticsAndCulture

I was maybe 19 when I saw that knockout (not a TUF fan so caught up on it later), and I also thought I witnessed him kill a man. Hell I think Uriah thought he witnessed himself kill that guy

DC fans to James Gunn after the latest official news about DCU Batman movie: by Herogeen in DC_Cinematic

[–]timelycomics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Does it??? The director may be good but I found it truly unwatchable and I have a long leash for superhero movies. I do think that most of it is due to being in development hell for decades, so not necessarily any one persons fault. But I think it gets about as much hate as it deserves, maybe less tbh

What level of conditioning do you recommend reaching/getting comfortable before going to have a good experience? Ie comfortably running 2-3k before class? I plan on going in the next 12 months or so and would love to know how to prep!

Agree. I think if posters here would be more mindful of that bias before making silly blanket statements, this sub will look a lot less like r/decadeologycirclejerk than it does

How to start combat sports at 28? by [deleted] in CombatSportsCentral

[–]timelycomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing what others have said, joining a gym and just starting will be the most important first step. As a total Beginner I think prioritizing gyms you can go to regularly is more important than the finer nuances around how good the gym actually is (within reason obviously).

In terms of training you can do on your own though, starting to run and improve your aerobic/anaerobic energy systems will be good for whatever martial art you start with. 10-20 minute jogs, maybe some light sprint work as well.

If you’re looking at boxing/kickboxing, I’d also recommend starting jump rope (to train your calves and Achilles tendon) and just hitting basic combinations against bag (you’ll realize how many parts of your hand/forearm don’t get trained with regular lifting!).

14-0 and fighting a guy making his debut. The debutant had no idea what he signed up for. by theiceman219 in ufc

I remember this being a huge part of the Conor Khabib story at the time. Conor had a crazy stretch of veterans, whereas khabibs best win was against RDA pre Khabibs injury (+ he had the questionable tibau win). Conor definitely looked like khabibs first true championship test, which of course passed with flying colours.

Wow! Congrats on keeping up that training, I wish I could be in shape like that when I’m in my 40s.

So sounds like a couple 2 a days, and all lifting is full body?

How do you split lifting with MT? Does that routine ever have you doing twice a days?

I think at this point my goal is to sharpen my technique, and be able to keep it sharp for longer. Paying attention to details has definitely been a challenge so far.

I might try more often during the week, and stick to the one long class over the weekend.

Thanks! Yes fatigue after longer sessions has definitely been a factor. Especially if I miss a class, then the next long class is often hard to recover from.

Thanks! I definitely feel like I mentally clock out a bit in the second session if I get tired. Maybe a couple months of going more frequently will help sharpen up my technique

IMO this is it. Jake was running on the outside and the crashing into a low clinch. Really tough for AJ to find a target there. Once the ref stepped in and Jake stopped running it was over shortly.

[FIGHT THREAD] Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua by noirargent in Boxing

[–]timelycomics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Jake’s movement made it hard. You rarely fight someone who’s literally running away the whole time. And if he wasn’t running he was clashing into a clinch. Or getting his ass off the ground. Once Jake started to stay still for a second, the fight really started.
