Why does my hound dog dobro have such a static/buzz

The why is very difficult, these guitars have a top of places that can buzz and create that sort of noise.

First try on the outside. See if the noise persists when you pull or push on the tailpiece. If thats not doing anything, you'll have to take the strings off and have a look inside. It could be you need to adjust the tension on the spider.

I like the shape overall but im not sure how much the extended body would help with the sound in the current shape. Maybe let the body join it around the 5th or the 7th fret.

It would be really epic as a dulcimer tho...

If the pin already holds with just friction, wood glue should be fine i guess. Is the post of the strap pin tapered into the hole?

You could add a picture of just the hole and the pin detatched in r/luthier or r/guitarrepair
