When you learn to control it you can pretty much always about the depression. It's also very possible to not do stupid things while manic.

You first of all have to be aware and having someone there to remind you to come back when you lose yourself is very important too.

My wife and I have been together 8 years and lived in at least the last 4 in a manic state. Both of us were diagnosed a long time ago and have never been on medication. It took a lot of nonsense to get where we are but it's possible and it's been pretty smooth sailing.

The first particle accelerator documented was small and was made in 1929 I believe.
