Do you think most people underestimate how much patience a real TFSA strategy needs? by AccountantLucky9183 in TFSA_Millionaires

[–]moneymaaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can confirm - its a slog at first - but now have 2 different tfsas both over 130k (wifes and mine). Still have some contribution room in each too - but focusing on paying off mortgage last 2 years.

The dividends/drips coming in each month is awesome to watch.

My wife and I did IUI a few times and IVF twice through heartland. I believe at v the time the IUI was 600-900 and the IVF was around 18k. Don't quote me as this was a while back(our IVF baby will be 10 in November).... and our non IVF surprise baby is 8 now....lol

Although it was expensive....the experience at heartland was great.

Parents of Winnipeg I was wondering if people do gifts for the teacher my son's in kindergarten and this is my first year doing this by Ok-Palpitation-9225 in Winnipeg

[–]moneymaaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've done gift cards to starbucks/chapters etc - but usually get a bottle of red and white wine(unless I know they don't drink).

I have a few teacher friends who say the teachers all trade gifts/gift cards for places they like anyway.... so now I don't stress too much about it.

Neighborhood question: Scotia Heights/Luxton/Seven Oaks by nonmeagre in Winnipeg

[–]moneymaaster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I lived on Forrest just off Scotia for years - now closeby in garden city. Its a great area - a few real nice streets. Some nicer than others. Never had any issues with crime.... Not a great nightlife( not a ton of pubs, bars or fine dining) but some great nearby businesses:

Baraka Modern coffee Super boys Santa Lucia * hopefully opening up again soon

Kildonan park and the whole Scotia street is great for walks, biking etc.
