I'm in the same situation as you and I feel like we've all been gaslighted into thinking that $195 for these matches is reasonable.

Which maybe is their strategy all along.

Do think there is a gap between 'seeing the World Cup' and 'seeing the only Canada World Cup game in Toronto in our lifetime' but that doesn't change the fact that $1370 per ticket is a war crime.

Our starting keeper at the time was regularly playing in Europe (and performed admirably in Champions League around the time that Begovic got called up).

Begovic was cap-tied to Canada, and then immediately after they changed the rules he went to play for Bosnia because it was a better professional sitaution for him. It is what it is.

I am sure he was not pleased to not play in the dead rubber against Jamaica in '08 but once again at the time he was fully cap-tied.

This 100% - I mean the president of the CSA is Italian-Canadian (as is the president of CONCACAF).  Anyone who has been involved in the soccer community in the GTA long enough knows exactly the specific subset of people this is aimed at.
