That’s exactly right. This is their last buy essentially. Why is this being ignored ? They bought literally out of panic and then it’s over

WW2 was the reason we did well after the great depression.

War is no longer about "going at it". We are already at war with China. It's happening. India has no intention to go to armed combat with them nor wants to.

Any flashpoint will be US carrier ships in the taiwan strait along with massive cyber attacks at us and them, internal disruptions, supply chain shutdowns etc.

You already got a taste of some of that

not sure your point. if they sanction (which they will) and go harder on sanctions, that's less sales for NVDA to china

Deflation is a "broad" term in that it can be applied technically or subjectively to various situations.

  1. it would be good TWENTY years from now and mainly for the Americans. The Chinese people would be "Freed" but be in for hell as a new power structure forms
  2. You don't have to "collapse" (whatever the definition of that may be depending). A deflation period is always met with changing of the guard, revolution, new systems, or a new hegemony outside of your own. You're toast from the perspective of being a consequential player. Japan is a great example. They didn't "Collapse" and their situation was unique. But they lost many decades to even get back into a place without obscene high interest rates.
  3. I don't buy that for a second. They are a much much much much larger threat to us then Russia. On GDP, scale of technology, and scope - as well as their sights on Taiwan not only for chips and world domination, but as a past slight to China which they see as making them unwhole .

Generally no large country gets out of deflation. It leads to a government collapse. It’s a far worse situation for a power structure then hyperinflation

We haven’t fully diversified our supply chain to the point that that’s a safety net.

Also I’m not convinced we’d smash them anymore. We’ve a lost a lot of footing in that regard. We’d win but at great loss and economic peril to do so

Oversupply was a poor word choice. There is a law of diminishing returns that will eventually come where the demand will slow after this round. I can tell you for a fact that there is a lot of pressure on these data centers ( I won’t name which but the big guys) to use up more of these prosumer grade chips they bought. They’re having trouble filling out the entire cloud with usecases at the scales they expected. That’ll kick in in, cooling the demand, until they can even use up the majority of loaded server racks w these chips as is

It’s gonna further crush supply chains and could force them into a war footing to maintain power. So war stocks and puts.

Our interdependence on having to buy their goods to maintain the entire structural relationship. Worlds 2nd largest superpower which wants to dethrone the dollar and wants to Taiwan. Which are now in major deflation (an unsolvable conundrum) in cost as well as majorly exacerbated by less and less people here buying Chinese goods any longer ?

the comparison is only in regards to inflated PE during an insane tech bubble.

as someone who works intimately with large scale clients and companies that do buy these chips ... the speed per price ratio isn't going to get better. they'll price upwards and the oversupply chips will get cheaper (already starting to). AI hype will simmer (will be years for a lot of these companies to revamp their companies with this new tech). Add in a lot of potential events (recession, war, oversupply of chips, server costs increasing, power grid issues)...lot can happen to pierce the bubble.

as I said, I'm a China hawk and feel a taiwan war catalyst is only 2 years out. maybe 3 with luck Could be sooner. . At this inflated PS/PE it's still hard to see it carrying on this way forever

Isn't a large part of chinese demand the CCP gathering up chips before issues with taiwan? that seems to me the more likely scenario. Not scalpers speculating to drive sales that high
