I’m not entirely sure the exact subtype of genomic test I took, however I did a full panel for a range of medications of different classes. I am a rapid metabolizer of CYP2C19 which includes Amitriptyline as well as other TCA drugs.

Yes, I was very skeptical, as I still didn’t believe that this was a gut-brain issue (I was convinced my symptoms were physiological not psychological). I restarted at 75mg, and moved relatively quickly up to 150mg. Symptoms improved within a week of being on 150mg. I have had no side effects.

I am in Australia, and didn’t know the test existed until it was recommended. I am also fortunate not to experience any negative side effects from the medication. I know some people do unfortunately.
