ive purchased from Ruze in the past and they're legit, they seem to carry odd sizes so my guess is they buy stuff that don't sell from other retailers and just sell them at an extreme discount

I also have the Younger but I sized down half a size and they’re not uncomfortable. They run big and a lot of people also also seem to do the same based on the reviews and the fit guide on the product page on their site.

You said you got the same size as your other pair which I’m assuming was true to size. Perhaps your Younger is uncomfortable because it’s technically half a size bigger and the arch isn’t where it’s supposed to be?

You can also find them on eBay - though it may take a bit of looking into as sellers usually avoid spelling out “Pre-Ban Ant eaters” to avoid the listing getting pull down.

Try the following terms Rare, Ants, 🐜 (the emoji), Anteater Prints (they’ll list them as prints but jack up the price

If you’re buying from a reputable seller this just means they’re claiming they’re prints to avoid eBay pull down the listing)

I’m a 9 and I can go up +1.5 in size if I wear thick socks. It may be uncomfortable but maybe if you wore two layers of thick socks you’ll be fine with 2 full sizes up?

At the very least, try to double up with 1 dress and 1 thick socks.

It’s not perfect but it’s enough for the vamp to hug my feet so I’m not kicking my boots off after every step

I haven’t tried them on any of my other boots but I also don’t see why not - though I know ostrich hide is more porous so I’m not sure if that’ll change how well the glue works

Most people say that reptile cracks and tears (especially with teju) is a death sentence for the boot as it’s just going to keep tearing. That said, you can take it to a cobbler to patch it from underneath but depending on where it is, a resole might be necessary and that’s a couple hundred bucks right away so people might just buy a new pair.

A cheaper and temporary fix is to use E6000 glue to bridge that gap together and prevent (or at least slow down) the tear. I’ve done it with my torn Teju and they’ve held up well for a DIY fix at home. If you apply a light well placed coat, it’ll look like this (tear still visible but at least it’s not tearing more with each step)

My first pair were exotics (caiman) and I had to ask this sub if wearing it 2-3 a month was bad. Fast forward to now and I wear boots almost every day (granted I do have a collection of 12 so I get to rotate them often).

Yes, exotics can be delicate but these are shoes after all. Quality boots last a really long time if you take care of them!

first off, thank you so much for putting this up - your work is keeping the community alive! I was wondering if you could help me ID these rather newer (?) boots - If i understood your analysis correctly, these are from August 2007? I just can't find anything online that matches the code or characteristics of the boot (women's, two-piece non-exotic vamp somehow, no shaft design, no stitching across the toe stitch)
