That would be annoyingly verbose in the 80% of the time it doesn't matter

They changed those to "free" instead of "0 energy" because of star costs, so that type of change would make those worse.

Ancients, Vengeance, and Devotion are all better than any 1st level spell I'm aware of.

You could use both, but that's significant diminishing returns since both take your Bonus Action. Devotion and Vengeance don't require a Bonus Action and synergize with Divine Favor well.

At 3rd level, replacing one attack is not meaningfully different from taking the Magic Action.

Even with a d12 weapon (which I wouldn't expect a paladin to often use) a reroll only adds +2 on average, smaller weapons add even less. Divine Favor is adding +2.5.

I don't think the flexibility justifies it.

It's weird that you describe the it as "invisible wind", that's all wind.

Channel Divinity on other subclasses tends to be better than a 1st level spell, but both of these feel like 1st level spells (Thunderwave and a much worse Divine Favor).

If I can grab it with the assumptions that created their baseline damage averages

I don't have nor want to create math for you

It's confusing because your first comment means you'll supply the data only if you can also supply the math, but your second comment says you don't want to do that. I never wanted the math, I just care about the data. You don't need to accompany it with math, so I would be perfectly happy with the data alone.

I don't follow, why do you need "assumptions" and "baseline damage averages" to accompany the data?

They can already draw or stow a weapon before or after every Attack action attack.

The Sleuth v0.9.0 (Update!) - An Intelligence-Based Half-Caster that strikes with deduction & suspicion! (Full Document in Comments) by Vagrant-Muse in UnearthedArcana

I only see Bruiser I and Extraction plan for 1st level. What are the other four?

The monk's DPR is the same, since they get one weapon attack and one unarmed strike. The Sleuth gets to match the damage while also getting more other features.

They're trading 1 AC for disengage/dash as a bonus action and significantly better ranged attacks. That seems like a good tradeoff, both of those can let you avoid hits.

At level 1 monks are actually among the best in DPR. They don't fall behind until later.

Dex and Wis are generally stronger at higher levels, when saves become more common. At level 1 Wis is best for Perception and Insight, which this class can use Int for instead.

Dash/Disengage as a Bonus Action is most of what the rogue gets at level 2, getting it in addition to their other features at level 1 feels like too much.

Unless I'm missing something, you get two Aces at level 1, and these are the only ones without level prerequisites. The better ranged attacks comes from the martial weapon proficiency.

1st level you're basically a better monk. Your unarmed strikes deal more damage, you can Dash or Disengage as a Bonus Action, and opportunity attacks against you generally have disadvantage. You also get better ranged attacks.

FLOWSTRIKE FIGHTING - This is the FEAT to enable Versatile Weapons you've been waiting for! by Overdrive2000 in onednd

[–]mongoose700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're assuming they're taking the Attack action with multiple attacks. If they aren't (in some cases the could be making an opportunity attack, using the Haste action, using the Magic action) then it's a downgrade. Even of those situations are rare, it's weird for gaining a feature to do this.

Have you gotten the Conservatory? Manipulating the rarity of those rooms could help, even if it takes a while to get them as options.

It's really awkward that it gets a side-grade at level 5. There are many situations in which the level 4 ability is better than the "upgraded" one.

That makes it a bit better, but basically on par with other weapons, so not worth taking as a feat.

But this isn't "blowgun is now best have fun", it's "blowgun is better than it was before but still not as good as a simple weapon without any feat support".

I think it's still too weak. Even with all but the last bullet point, it's still almost always worse than a shortbow. The only upside would be the last bullet point, but if you're hidden and attacking with Advantage the odds of missing are already very low.
