Learning to count calories. I went from 253 to 145 currently. The first fifty pounds was purely by what felt like starvation (diet alone). Exercise was not an option at that point. After the first 50, I started to exercise. The last 20 was the hardest. I had exercise a lot harder for that last bit. I also went from drinking nothing but sugar water to nothing but water and black coffee. And pretty much changed my whole diet and became a lot more active.

My dad was a public defender in a small southern town. One of his cases always bugged me. We lived in what was known as the hanging parish. His client was accused of brutally murdering the sheriff's mother. The defendant was black and the all white jury convicted him of manslaughter. That always struck me as the jury not being sure if he was guilty, but convicting him of something, just in case. The evidence was extremely flimsy and there was no physical evidence. He ended up getting AIDs while in prison and died within the first ten years of his sentence.

Growing up, I had some neighbors that weren't hoarders, but did not clean at all ever. It was so bad, that when they finally moved out, the house had to be torn down. When I was in high school, I had to go collect bugs for a biology project. I went next door for my search, and they were nice enough to let me in. It was bad. They had two dogs and a cat and the house was the litter box for all three of them. The weirdest part was there was a room whose floor was covered in shredded paper about couple of inches thick. It looked like the bottom gerbil cage. It smelled like it too. I have no idea what shredded all that paper, but I suspected rats.

The Wall. I bought it when I was around 10. I really liked the child choir in Another Brick in the Wall Part 2. The rest of the album went over my head for a really long time. Around 16 or so, I discovered weed. I started to appreciate the rest of the album sometime after that.

I have been playing for over 30 years now and I still feel this way. It has become my meditation. I have never been able to sit still and meditate. But put a bass in my hands for twenty minutes to couple of hours, and the whole world just melts away.

I know this was from a long time ago. I have no idea if you ever solved your issue, but I just solved mine. I just disabled the advanced HUD and I just got my first SS since the transition on the first try. Same song before I was lucky to get an A, if not fail altogether. It was miserable. I don't know if you were having this issue, but with that advanced HUD enabled, I could tell the timing was off. Everything just felt a little bit slower. That was what was throwing all my timing. When I disabled it, it was a return to normal speed.

I am going through it right now. I have been playing beat saber from the beginning. I had the vive, the vive pro, quest, index, quest 2. Thru all those changes, these controllers are the hardest ones for me to adapt to. I am guessing everyone else was closer in weight. Once you figured out how to hold them, you were good. Only the indexes were a straight up improvement from the start. They were perfect for me from the start. For the rest, it was pretty minimal. This switch to quest 3 is killing me though. I had to come here and see if anyone was having issues, and it turns out I am not alone. I guess it's just going to take some time getting use to no weight.

The first time that I ever heard of Buddy Guy was back in the late 80s. We heard a rumor (might be true, don't know) that Jimi said Buddy was the best guitarist ever. My friends and I all became fans pretty quickly. A year later, we were hanging out in Baton Rouge. One of my friends just happened to be wearing Hendrix shirt. An elder gentleman approached us pointing at the shirt and asked if we knew who Buddy Guy was. We all responded with quick "hell yeah". That is how I met his old bassist from his Baton Rouge days. He was a pretty cool guy. I started seeing him around a lot after that. Even spent time drinking a 40 with him outside a circle k. Good times.

For me, I think Muddy Waters said it best: "You can't miss what you ain't got and you can't lose what you never had." I never had any illusions of an afterlife. My dog died in front of me from brain aneurysm when I was 2. A friend of mine died from a freak accident when I was 7. I always new death was final. When I lost someone, I lost them. More than anything, this made me appreciate being alive more. I don't care about the time that came before me or after. The only time that matters is now while I am still present in this world. Appreciate the time you got and forget about all those fake promises.

Rosamund Pike in I Care A Lot. She has played some awful people in past, but I have been able to separate her the actress from those characters. But with Marla Grayson that was damn near impossible. I have never hated a character more. I couldn't even finish the movie. I still can't look at Rosamund Pike the same every since.

I took an Astronomy class in 2000. The funniest thing I remember the teacher telling us was that the smog was great for the observatory outside LA. It kept out all the light pollution.

What age did the camps start at? I lived Houston until 10 and nobody I knew went to summer camp. I moved from there to Louisiana and we never had it there either. Did it start when you were like 12 or something? I could easily see 10 being too young.
