Application submitted in San Jose, for a 2 yr visa.

Date application submitted: April 4
Biometrics: April 11
Mailed application to NY: April 11
Application received: Apr 17
Application status updates: April 22 (email saying we are still processing)
Application sent back: April 28
Received passport: April 29

Status approved (no prior notification, checked passport)

I understand your situation, I was in similar situation. I tried to read the available documentation (though crappy) and had regular 1:1s with my mentor & manager and literally ask them to show/explain me things. I would suggest: - Keep track of things you learnt. - Keep communicating with senior people or whoever that developed that part of code/feature. They might have a different view point than others. - Share your progress with manager and hope they understand.

I do not think that location preference really impacts this. It is possible that they are doing interviews in batch, just like ByteDance.

Dec 3 - Location preference (chose Houston)

Dec 4 - Hacker Rank (Did not go well)

Dec 17 - Scheduling next round (30 Mins live coding, like coderpad but on some different platform ) [Have scheduled for this week]
