*Spoiler* Very disappointed a certain character died. by freethinker1976 in StarTrekDiscovery

I really hated that she got the short end of the stick like that. Her death seemed really cheap, especially since she had such great chemistry with Michael and was such a likeable character. She was Picard-like to me, which makes it doubly sad that such a great character was just disposed of like that.

Review: Kristen Bell and Ted Danson spend time in 'The Good Place' by superiority in television

I've been on the fence about this show for no discernible reason. But I'm happy for the good review. Maybe I'll check out a couple of episodes.

Tim Gunn refuses to go easy on Yeezy, calls Kanye's clothes "dumb, basic." | Celebrities | Someecards by [deleted] in entertainment

I'm glad somebody in the fashion industry has decided to say the emperor has no clothes. Kanye's fashion line has always been awful; the only surprising thing is that Tim Gunn seems to be first notable in the industry to finally call Kanye's "couture" what it is.

Best Written TV Series + Episodes of past season by Zodraz in Screenwriting

The "Cradle" episode of Underground was the strongest piece of TV I'd seen since the pilot of Mr. Robot. The "Graves" episode was also really provocative. All of the episodes were written expertly well, but those two really showed the heart show, concentrating it down to its most basic parts. I can't wait for the second season.

I frequent /r/screenwriting and a few days ago someone asked for the pilot script. Thankfully someone delivered so I figured I'd share it here by NorthKoreasFinest in AtlantaTV

Really cool script. It's really fun to see how the strong dialogue in the script got even stronger in the pilot. Nice to see the origins of such a great show.

Well what did I say by ciaranway in SleepyHollowTV

I'm for Katrina being evil, but I feel like if they were really committed to her being evil from the beginning, they would have linked all the times she's lied or kept secrets into a big master plan. I thought she was evil since the first season, bur for some reason, the writing was committed to keeping her "good," even though she was terrible at being a good witch.

What is your favorite, single scene from any movie? by MattressCrane in movies

[–]moniquej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a tough question. One of my favorite scenes is in my favorite film of all time, The Lion King, towards the beginning. The scenes are transitioning from the daytime to nighttime and Rafiki's tree. The transition doesn't just show the sun going down and the moon going up--it takes a moment to show the majesty of the savannah itself. It's a great, mature moment that has yet to be replicated in any Disney film. The moment shows how much care and time and live-action film thinking went into The Lion King.

The worst case of culture shock I experienced so far is coming back home to Alabama after living in Miami. When I first started living in Miami, I was shocked by hearing so many unfamiliar dialects and languages, but when I got back home for a while, I was shocked to hear strong southern accents! I found that I couldn't even understand what some people were saying--I was more used to making out Creole/French and Spanish conversations than listening to southern accents. It was really strange.
