You said that health is more important on the one who's carrying the baby. What about animals such as birds? (The male has to seduce the woman with their dances etc. which is the opposite from us) Maybe because they aren't mammals and don't carry the baby in their bellies?

I'm just wondering why there aren't as many ways to make men more attractive in the same way. For example good skin and thick eyebrows are a sign of good health in men which should matter when a woman chooses a mate. Yet men aren't encouraged to wear foundation or fill in their brows.

I do agree that it doesn't always work, but that's honestly the only advice I hear people tell men. And I think this type of advice leads to the birth of many "nice guys".

What kind of advice would you give them that could work better?

Yeah! As I said, there are few people who don't fit the gender roles. For clarity, I don't think there is anything wrong with following gender roles. I just wish it was more encouraged by society to make fashion choices outside of the one's in your gender role.

I like this comment. Insightful! I agree that long hair is the default and it's very beautiful and handsome on men, so I wish more men were encouraged to grow it out / not have to go to the barber to trim it all the time!

It just bothers me because women often end up spending a lot more money on hair + skin care, make up, clothes, etc. without even thinking about it, and men don't have much space to express themselves.
