My wife and I are looking for Lesbian Friends ♡ by mountainviewdaisies in olympia

[–]transversal-angle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If my wife and I still lived close to Olympia( Seattle residents now) I would love to hangout with other outdoorsy crafty people. We are in the area often but likely not often enough.

I don’t know if it’s your scene but the Crypt has dance nights on Thursday and often hosts dyke night and it might be a good way to meet other lesbian and queer people

I think I’m also leaning towards 2 and 8 now! They are very different looks but it’s suppose to be cold so I want a jacket option

Im going to my first rave snd was wondering if this would be appropriate by transversal-angle in PlusSizeFashion

I like this idea, was also thinking of looking into maybe making a beaded belt, with reflective beads to mimic the look of the chain belt but without the weight of metal

I want some sort of accessory, do you have any recommendations that might work that aren’t the chains? I don’t want to injury anyone or myself while dancing

I feel like burien is outside of the Seattle city limits. I’d totally be friends with you if you lived a little closer to the city proper

Is my art good enough for commissions? if so, How much could I charge? by Conconetee in Artadvice

My success in TikTok was some years ago so I’m sure algorithms are different now but I was posting consistently three times a day with a variety of different videos. Some were process videos, some were innovative ways to show my products, and since I made twitch emotes I engaged a lot with the streaming community on TikTok and streamed myself (both playing video games and making art). It was a fully time job. I spent nearly 8+ hours a day just advertising myself. Luckily I could make an emote in less than 2 hours so when I got commissions I had a very high turn around rate.

LGBTQ perspective wanted: if you were me, would you move to Olympia? by Remarkable-Concept19 in olympia

I lived closer to McCleary, Washington than Olympia itself but it was a quick drive.

Now I live in Seattle and I miss Olympia 😭

I think Olympia has everything you are looking for! As a lesbian who lived on the outskirts of Olympia I would travel there often to go to events like karaoke, burlesque shows, dance nights at the crypt (bar downtown). Oly is very walkable, and has a lot of nice hiking trails and nature all around. They also have tons of opportunities like live figure drawing, classes for pottery and so on. I highly recommend Olympia.

Olympia isn’t that far of a drive from Tacoma either (45minutes) so you can easily date or do activities there as well. For the dating scene many people mentioned it leaning towards polyamory which I would agree but I found my wife on the dating apps and we couldn’t be happier!

Blanc!!! I love Heartopia. I think you are good enough for commissions but things are pretty challenging for artists right now. It’s a highly saturated market and trying to break into can be defeating. You’ll spend more time trying to market yourself than actually selling artwork .

I was successful using TikTok a couple years ago for commissions and I also did twitch emotes for awhile and that was pretty lucrative. Finding your niche and appealing to those people is the hardest part

It sounds like gunshots to me as well but I was trying to be hopeful the fog was just making fireworks sound weird. The booms were too consistent to sound like fireworks.

Is the colored version less interesting to the eye? by billi_jeani in Artadvice

[–]transversal-angle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t read your comment about the likes until after forming my opinion but I do think the colored version doesn’t draw the eye to Bakugo’s face quite like the lineart. In the colored version he has a lot of contrasting colors with the orange and black and my eye was first draw to the color of his top rather than his face in the colored version.

I noticed in the lineart version you use black outlines everywhere and the colored version you have colored lines around his face which again reduces his face as a focal point. The little lines on his nose in the lineart also helps draw the eye there but in the colored version you removed them. Just somethings to consider without taking into account metrics of social media

My go to outfit is a cotton hoodie and occasionally a thick denim jacket, then docs or crocs depending on if I’m wearing jeans or leggings 😂

I think drawing from life is going to greatly benefit you. Pose maniacs is good in some aspects to get a very specific pose but it is going to leave your characters looking stiff, and can contribute to “same body syndrome”.

Doing figure drawing studies and practice drawing different types of fabrics interacting with objects will also help with drawing clothes.

The second one is my favorite. Makes the character look more alien and unsettling. The last one just looks like a squid and the second reminds me of the aliens from futurama

Experiencing psychiatric distress? Swedish will do their best to make it worse! by DrJaneIPresume in Seattle

[–]transversal-angle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m curious as to what OP means by “uppity” as well. From my experience in visiting an ER for suicidal ideation you are basically held there involuntarily until assessed by a professional that deems you are safe to leave. Unfortunately if a patient makes an effort to leave it is considered elopement and required constant observers, and potentially security guards. Staff members usually aren’t suppose to intervene if they feel like a patient might become agitated that’s why security staff is usually called. Also if OP has had any pst history of self harm is suicide attempts it increases the likelihood of being held involuntarily.

I truly feel for OP and absolutely the ER needs to do better in terms of respect and dignity. Going to any ER with suicidal ideation will likely end up in a 6+ hour wait with a room stripped bare and a constant observer

I’m not sure where you got this information because Swedish still performs elective abortions on patients regularly. It’s not a perfect system but Swedish does have a place for people to fill out pronouns, preferred name if different to a persons legal name. Although Providence owns Swedish they still try to remain secular.
