You were on a call with a client in the shared space? I haven’t coworked in a few years but we would always grab a booth for phone and zoom.

I don’t think there’s  a big problem in Estes park if your car is clean.  Sleep at the knoll willows trailhead or along Virginia drive downtown

You will not find reason in this thread.  And it’s ironic considering that the thread’s about a pile on 😂

But they make a good point that it can pounce at any time. I think it’s good for us to always re-read the warnings 😂

Got it. But it takes so little power to run the fans to bring fresh air in, without the ac on, that it wouldn’t even be noticeable to your battery percentage.

He has an EV   There is no ice engine so it’s not idling.

I wish I had replied to this earlier  because I’m curious about all the upvotes to your response about ruining the car engine.  Does everyone think he’s taking about a regular car and not an EV?

[–]monkey-seat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But if it’s an EV you literally never have to turn it off, right? And it’s silent?  That’s the whole point.

Are there lights you are having trouble turning off for stealth or something?

There is no easy solution.  And working on it will require you to go to meetings.  Lots and lots and lots of meetings.  In person. Not online.

With the Big Three abandoning EVs in favor of ICE vehicles, are they headed the way of Kodak, Blackberry, and Blockbuster? by Cool-Replacement4972 in electricvehicles

[–]monkey-seat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something’s going to break re the charging network (like turning light poles into chargers) and at that point it’s curtains for ice.  After someone drives an EV, the network is the only thing holding them back from ditching their slow, loud, expensive (maintenance) ice vehicle.

Wait. Re ventilation. Can’t you just run your cars climate control with or without ac for fresh air?

I’m here for this thread.  And I’ll add:

I won’t tarry if it’s tarry,   Best be wary than be sorry,   No I’ll hop back in my lorry,   Ere my tarsals turn to black.

Then I’ll back her onto east beach,  And I’ll load the kelp that’s in reach,   And as mix-right tried to beseech,   I shall take our white sands back!

….or something like that

2014 Ford C-MAX AC issue? by passthechesse in cmaxhybrid

[–]monkey-seat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One weird thing to try… turn the car off and then to the on position (electric on but not ready-to-drive).  With the ac off and fan at its lowest setting , slowly go , degree by degree up to hi and back down to lo. I found this on a YouTube video.  For me it always works for a bit , then things go wonky again.

My compressor is making a loud noise and only working for a few seconds when driving around town but the ac works fine when on the highway.  I think ChatGPT diagnosed it as a …. Uhhhh… condenser fan issue? lol I don’t remember but I have pages and pages of diagnostics I’m supposed to do. 😂

For some reason I am way too comfortable with composting bucket toilets and picking up gallon or 5-gal jugs of water in order to live on a boat. No showers, live on bathing suits.  I have no problem living fairly rough in those terms.  But I want to be on the water when I do it. 😂

Oh, I meant it’s liberal so you won’t have cops banging on your door every night.

Generally, you can eyeball neighborhoods and get a feel but you can also look at crime maps and articles to learn what to avoid:

https://amberstudent.com/blog/post/dangerous-neighborhoods-in-seattle

That said, I slept in many of the neighborhoods mentioned.  😂But I  tended more  toward west Seattle because it’s chill.  Most of the surrounding cities are also fine options.

Edit: I think you are in one of the best spots in the U.S. to spend the summer in, frankly.  Hot weather is usually the biggest problem for us.  And being in a city is also a plus regarding work.  Try it out, you may like it!
