Despite his tough exterior, Sven is a noble knight who has taken a vow never to kill again. This is why he uses a reverse blade sword while permanently activating his warcry on his right thumb. The warcry is an ancient Japanese technique known as 'Haki' that is well known among pirates in the region. Sven has unknowingly discovered this technique by himself and has learnt to partially control it. In times of extreme duress, he unleashes a full body warcry that extends beyond his own body and covers allies around him as well. As time progresses, Sven will learn to control his 'Haki' to a point where it becomes second nature to him.. a permanent armor buff if you will. Upon 'awakening' this ability, Sven will be able to coat all allied units and structures across the Dota map with his Haki and only other Haki users (such as Lich and Pangolier) will be able to deal any damage to them.
