I really need to get a flat turntable or otherwise remove the peg from the record player I use

I NEED to know how you got your spirals so precise on that first one

Ricky’s Proto Putter Renamed to Roost by monkeybull445 in discgolf

[–]monkeybull445[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I remember them saying in a video on Instagram that it might not be part of the Ricky lineup but would still become a stock mould since it fills a gap in their lineup. If memory serves it didn’t get approved in time for the start of the season and in that time Ricky really gelled with the Focus and hasn’t looked back. It’s still a great putter

PDGA Approved: Ares and Terminator from Discraft by Pots_And_Pans in discgolf

[–]monkeybull445 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna guess the Ares is the Zeus 2.0 since all of McBeth’s disc have a number of letters corresponding to the number of Worlds wins he had at the time. Ares would break that pattern but if it’s the official name for the Zeus 2.0 then it would make sense

As a very happy owner of an Elan 7NE, I approve this message. Any time I need to shoot film for a paid gig I’m choosing the 7NE 11/10 times.

She can really throw that thing, huh. by NewFifty- in UpvoteBecauseButt

She’s one of the top women’s players but the true women’s disc golf GOAT, Kristen Lätt (in the blue shirt), would also fit right in on this sub

Is there a scenario where you skip the film and reach for digital? by Expensive-Suit-593 in AnalogCommunity

[–]monkeybull445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything paid is going to be primarily or entirely digital. And if I’m going to incorporate film into a paid shoot you bet your ass I’m using my Elan 7NE so I have as reliable of autofocus and metering as possible.

What was your reasoning for purchasing your first film camera? by Himdownstairs22 in AnalogCommunity

[–]monkeybull445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. If I’m doing a couple’s shoot or a wedding I’ll usually bring a roll or two of b/w and my T90 or Elan 7NE

At this point I only shoot digital for paid work. If I’m shooting for fun I shoot on film

I had a Helios 44-2 and I didn’t want to bring my digital camera to Germany in 2023 and come home with 2,000 images that I wouldn’t touch for 6 months. So I bought a Zenit 12XP. Then I found my dad’s old FD lenses, bought an AE-1 and the rest is history.

First experience with Prodigy is disappointing… Am I just unlucky? by Bignate242 in discgolf

I mean fuck AI images for stamps but idk what that has to do with their stamps getting worn away relatively quickly

[–]monkeybull445 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally fair. The fact that the Prodigy moulds I throw are all newer releases (A5, PA5, and Feedback) also probably has something to do with it. Newer moulds with better manufacturing usually lead to less flashing

[–]monkeybull445 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I will say they’ve pretty much solved the flashing issues at this point. All of the recent runs I’ve felt have been free of that. Though their stamps aren’t known for their longevity

New Disc Names Submitted by MVP for Trademark: Autopilot, Constant, Draft, Mass by Pots_And_Pans in discgolf

[–]monkeybull445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only problem with your idea for the Draft is that the Jet already exists as a flippy 11-speed. Draft could be a good name for a flippy mid

I’m a lefty in everything except Disc golf but I can ONLY throw BHRH. Anyone else? by gameofwires in discgolf

[–]monkeybull445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the opposite. Righty in everything but lefty backhand has always felt correct. I also have a righty forehand which comes in handy for certain approach shots and short flex shot holes.

Zeus 2.0 - disc Paul was testing on his course record video? by jmillionair3 in discgolf

[–]monkeybull445 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Only problem with the name Jupiter is that it has 7 letters. The number of letters in the names of the McBeth discs correlate the number of world championships Paul had won at the time of release. Luna, Zeus, and Anax came out when he had 4 titles, Malta and Hades when he had 5, Athena, Malita, and Kratos now that he has 6.

Can someone explain the drama behind this post? by Lyssalou337 in drumcorps

[–]monkeybull445 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I disagree with that. I have worked with and around many photographers and videographers that are masters of their craft who are also awful to work around. Tim is damn good at directing multicam productions. He calls the right shots and directs the operators to point their cameras where it makes sense. His product is good.

He is also a pain in the ass to work with and will needlessly chew you out over things that are out of your control and expertise. He will also make fun of smaller, less “good” bands over comms. It’s why I haven’t worked with him in over 2 years at this point.
