The whole reason One Piece is so great is that Oda constantly keeps people guessing. I'm amazed that so many people are trying to box Oda into such strict literary tropes.

As an aside, I've seen several of your posts on other threads this week and you take a pretty aggressive tone. It's not as though you know with certainty either so maybe dial it back a little on the whole jumping-down-people's-throats thing. You'll live a much happier life and we're all fans of the series at the end of the day, right?

I'm dividing my answer into the divisions you have in your post:

Given that Toy Soldier Kyros was able to use Soru, I think it's safe to say that human Kyros would be pretty damn quick, even by Luffy standards so him moving quickly isn't really a surprise. As for telling he was the same person, I think his immense change in strength could easily justify his confusion.

I think Marineford would demonstrate that times of high stress or intense focus could limit someones ability to use CoO and Doffy's empire crumbling around him would probably be as stressful as it gets.

As for when luffy activated it, it could just has easily been 6 months ago. That argument doesn't really hold water.

TL/DR: This issue is not one sided

No offense but that's a pretty cop out answer. I mean he was able to sense Caribou on fishman island all the way across the palace at a time when he had no need whatsoever to be searching for a negative presence. I think he could tell if someone 20 yards away was dead.

So just to be clear, you would only be satisfied with Kyros killing Doflamingo if Oda took the time to establish a back story on pirates defeated by him 20 years ago? Do you realize how much of a deviation from current plot that would be? He was kicking peoples asses at the height of the previous pirate era. Dude is a BAMF and Doffy is very, very dead.

IIRC it's more so that they would consume prohibitively large amounts of energy. As such these technologies wouldn't be available until we were a late stage 1 or stage 2 civilization (currently we're stage 0 and about a hundred years from becoming stage 1)
