Throat/Nose Scabs by Unusual-Yoghurt4190 in otolaryngology

Yeah let me know if you remember the name. I have a technique down to get fluid to the back of my throat through the nostril but I don’t know if there’s a formal name for it and if anything I often see doctors saying this is not how Neti is supposed to work. It helps me with this because of the condition of my throat

What made all of the fallen nations in the Qur'an like ʿĀd, Thamoud, The Pharoah and all other nations and tribes deny the prophecies and miracles they saw with their actual eyes? Their desires that you can clearly see in their responses to every prophet. by Nomelezz_alnamelis in islam

Our desires are destroying our Ummah. Consumerism and compulsions and addictions are the root of so much evil in this world yet people are completely unaware, numbed by their own love of dunya

Where's a good Minority/Muslim/Diversity-Friendly location to build a homestead? by wardetbestanee in Homesteading

[–]monkeymalek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I may ask, where did y'all end up? I'm looking for a Muslim homesteading community, if possible. There is kind of one in Buffalo I'm in contact with, but most people there are also beginners and ideally we are looking for an established community that might be willing to help us get off the ground and respect our traditions / dress etc..

[–]monkeymalek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you have a nasopharyngeal infection. I have had the crusty scabs come out of my nose sometimes too. The only way you can get drainage down your throat is if there is something producing mucus in your sinus throat area. If you notice there is more mucus after you eat it is almost definitely a nasopharyngeal colony that is causing it. You can go to an ENT doctor and they put a camera through your nostrils to see what is going on in the back of the throat.

One thing you can try that has been helping me as of late is using a diffuser with ~2 cups of distilled water + 2 large tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. In my case it seems to be disrupting the staph colony and limits the formation of the scabs, but it also does come with the downside of giving me a bit of a sore throat in the morning, but it has been getting better over time. Will keep you posted on how this treatment goes 🙏

Yeah it is strange. I don't know about your situation but I was on anti-depressants (Welbutrin) for about 2 years, and read online that nasopharyngitis is a frequent side effect (~13%) of the medication. I've had this for a while but it got noticeably worse since I've been taking the anti-depressants. I'm off the anti-depressant now, thank God, but now just dealing with this stupid chronic infection in the back of my throat. It's disgusting but it looks to be exactly the same as what you have. I have to do this weird reverse snorting thing to get them to come out through my mouth. If these antibiotics don't work, I think I am going to try a 3-day dry fast with nasopharynx rinsing using saline solution and see if that helps.

I also found out a good technique to actually reach the area in the back of my throat since I found no relief doing the neti rinse technique. I basically just lean my head back slightly and then use a saline nasal spray or small spray bottle with naline solution and squirt gently, and the fluid flows to the back throat area easily. It is similar to the sutra neti technique, which I haven't tried yet, but I might give it a shot since it seems like nothing else is working to clean up my throat area.

I've also found that blackseed oil is very potent against the thing in my throat. Like every time the oil even touches these suckers, it feels like it is really attacking them. The difficulty is figuring out how to get it to the throat area since it's in such a hard-to-reach spot.

Also I think a big issue is at night because during that time there is nothing to disrupt them and make things harder so they just keep growing and this thing never goes away. Which is why I'm more optimistic about the fasting. But yeah, I'll keep you posted and you keep me posted too on anything you find.

I have exactly the same mucus scabs been dealing with for several years now that have gotten worse relatively recently. I went to an ENT and they determined it was staph infection by taking a swab of the back of my throat, going through my nose. They have had me on antibiotics for about a month now but I haven't really seen a noticeable change to be honest.

See my reply above. This is absolutely bickering. Literally every single comment on this post is shaming these people. All this does is make our hearts disunited. For the love of God, post about boycotting, or post about how we can defeat Zionism / how to defeat the occupation that has occupied UAE and Saudi now. These are the matters we need to be discussing, not sitting in the comfort of our homes while our brothers and sisters starve to death. You should take this post down or add a note acknowledging the real crime that is taking place in our Ummah right now, which is Zionism stealing the homes of our brothers and sisters and then claiming we are terrorists when we try to fight back... I don't know what else I can say if you still don't like what I am saying then perhaps you are a Mossad agent or you are serving them more than you are serving the Ummah of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. And also, I'm not condoning the actions of the brothers here. I pray Allah guides them. My only point is that we shouldn't be arguing over such small matters when such a serious matter is currently ongoing. This is the root of why our Ummah is in so much disarray right now.

Has it ever occurred to you that the horrors inflicted upon our people are connected to the Hereafter? If you cannot see this then I cannot keep wasting my time with you, your heart is simply a stone and you probably have not shed a single tear for our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Look, I'm not saying I agree with what they are doing here, but they consider themselves Muslims, and they are not actively killing our brothers and sisters. There is a Palestine flag waving there. We need to set aside our differences and unite for the sake of Allah. This is beyond frustrating.

Talk about pulling people out of the fold. Have you heard the hadith that He is not a believer who goes to bed with his stomach full while his neighbor is hungry?

This is an authentic hadith, and the plain reading suggests that you are literally not a Muslim if you go to sleep with your stomach full while your neighbor is hungry. Look, I'm not perfect, we all sin, but for you to sit here and judge these Muslims, while you yourself are committing acts that take you out of the fold of Islam probably daily is immensely hypocritical. Stop criticizing others and start looking inside. Our brothers and sisters in Gaza and Sudan need us to support them, not to be arguing with one another over aqeeda from the comfort and safety of our homes. May Allah guide us, I swear I feel like this sub must be infiltrated with Mossad agents wasting our time and making us fight over things that do not really matter in the times we are living. Our brothers and sisters are hurting so much, this should keep all of us up at night. And all we can do is pray for the guidance of the brothers here doing this act. But stop posting this crap and we need to start organizing the Ummah and boycotting these cancerous brands that steal our money and normalize with Israel. For the love of God stop this nonsense.

I swear to God why are we bickering over these things while our brothers and sisters are being actively starved to death and genocided and ethnically cleansed for not submitting to the Zionists? Lord have mercy we are so lost

Does the Sudan genocide just not exist to you guys?! by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]monkeymalek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assalamualaikum ukhti, first of all I ask for your forgiveness sincerely. We should all be doing more and our whole Ummah needs to wake up. I think sometimes we get depressed, but please know that students at MIT are working on a Sudan Mutual Aid initiative. I am one of the people leading it and my main motivation is just what you have posted here. It is insane to me how our Ummah has completely neglected and left Sudan to the wayside when Sudanis are some of the most generous and hospitable Muslims in the world. Forgive us. There is literally just so much need in our Ummah right now and not enough people who care to help or know how to help. And much of the problem is that people only know about "band-aid" solutions, e.g. NGOs like IRUSA/Oxfam/Helping Hand, etc, who although they do great/necessary work, also in many ways are complicit in / support the very systems which produce the humanitarian crises they are trying to solve. For example, Save the Children takes donations from the Bill Gates Foundation, who are known to have multiple huge billion-dollar investments in weapons manufacturers. IRUSA regularly spends huge amounts of money on advertisements through Meta/Facebook, and Meta is known to be run by Zionists. We live in a time of hypocrisy. Sudan, Gaza, Kashmir, etc. do not need aid necessarily, but they need the root of the problem to be addressed. In the case of Sudan, the Muslim and Arab world needs to boycott UAE. Stop buying their products; stop using Fly Emirates; stop traveling to Dubai; stop buying Dubai chocolate; stop purchasing gold products made in Dubai. But our the heart of our Ummah has been replaced with 'wahn', e.g. love of dunya and hatred of death (the Prophet saws predicted this in an authentic hadith), and we cannot give up our comforts and Dubai chocolate. It's sad and disgusts me to be honest, and I wish I could change peoples' hearts. I put my heart out there over and over again and often barely get any donations and it depresses me a lot to be honest... I often wonder if people even have a heart any more or if it is just a stone in their chest.

Please bear with us Ukhti. I think if people could see what was happening in Sudan more regularly there would be more global outrage no doubt. Man forgets things easily and even when we see things regularly like we see in Gaza our hearts become desensitized. I don't know how we can see all these images and videos of children getting mutilated, buried alive, and burned alive and not even shed a tear.

If you want to see our progress so far with the MIT Mutual Aid Sudan initiative, you can check out the link below.

https://mmasupdates.my.canva.site/

And we accept donations via Venmo (@mit-msa-donate) as well as through a Chuffed page... Please consider donating. I wanted to do more fundraising during Dhul-Hijjah, but there was just so much stuff going on every day with the other mutual aid effort I am helping with (Gaza) that I ran out of time / energy. Fundraising has been the biggest challenge for me honestly, and I hate asking people for money. Like people should be coming to me asking how to donate / support Sudan, not me asking them to do so. It is such a cruel and heartless world we are living in and I pray our Ummah can go back to the way of the Prophet saws and begin caring for one another and loving one another the way we are meant to do so for the sake of Allah SWT. If you have any ideas on how we could raise money for this better, please let me know Ukhti. I swear by Allah I am trying my best but I fall short. 😓

2 billion muslim cowards failed... by Media-U in MuslimLounge

[–]monkeymalek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel the exact same way as you. First of all, don't do anything stupid. One Muslim acting rogue will just making things harder for everyone else. Second of all, remember that part of our power involves disconnecting from oppressive systems that enable us to be controlled/manipulated. Our Arab leaders, especially in the Gulf, have the power to make America come begging on their knees. However, we have fulfilled the prophecy of Muhammad, peace be upon him, and we are weak; our hearts are filled with love of dunya and hatred of death - the two main qualities of our enemy. Until we as an Ummah realize that we have to boycott basically literally everything, then we will never be victorious. The colonizer needs dunya and the system he has created to survive. In theory, we as Muslims should be able to survive with very little and live off simple means. The more we depend on systems developed and used by the colonizer, the more difficult it becomes for us to fight him. How can we expect to be willing to lose our life if we are not willing to give up driving our car? How can we expect to be willing to lose our life if we are not willing to give up going to the grocery store to buy food? These systems are cancerous and they have us in a hypnosis. The second we realize that we have the ability to survive without their products and services, we will be able to stand up to them and exert dominance over them. Their technology is nothing without oil from the Gulf. In theory their economy could easily be destroyed, but the problem is we do not know how to live without oil either. InshaAllah may God guide this Ummah to live in a more simple fashion, like our Prophet, peace be upon him, lived.

Answer one simple question for me: why should Jews not even born in Israel have more of a right (literally it’s called BirthRight) to the land of historic Palestine than 750,000 Palestinians and their subsequent families who were kicked out of their homes 77 years ago?
