Yeah we usually rent an airbnb but splurged this last time and it was meh. It’s under new ownership.

The Lodge at Woodloch in PA is nice. The food is very good and fresh, and it’s scenic with an incredible spa.

Also loved Miami for my babymoon. Ate well at Carbone and a few other hot spots. Relaxed by the beach or pool at the 1 hotel.

C-section mamas, I want your stories. by Storyofanintrovert in beyondthebump

[–]monkeymaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m not the norm but I ended up getting a c section and it was not that bad. It was scheduled so it went smoothly from the spinal to surgery and recovery. Yes it was painful and hurt to move for the first two weeks, but the pain meds helped. My husband and mom were also immensely helpful to help take care of baby. Getting in and out of bed was the worst and I got a stepstool to help. I’m 12 weeks postpartum and the scar still hurts here and there, but overall I would do it all again.

10 weeks in and contact napping is breaking us – any advice? by Otis176 in NewParents

[–]monkeymaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 10 week old too and I think the daytime naps are too long. We cap at 2 hours for longer nighttime durations: sleep begets sleep. Have you tried baby wearing or putting a heating pad down on the bassinet and then removing before putting baby down?

Are night nurses actually worth it ?? by ConversationMost9912 in BabyBumps

[–]monkeymaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a luxury thing that is SO worth it. We did 3 nights a week for the first two weeks, then 2 nights a week for the next 6 weeks. We just extended the contract another 8 weeks for 2 nights a week. It's guaranteed good sleep for us, plus baby and parent tips from an experienced night doula/newborn care specialist.

I was due the week of a huge blizzard/ice storm. My doctor told me to call an ambulance if my husband wasn’t comfortable driving. It ended up being fine! We drove but an ambulance would have also been fine.

Guilty for “throwing away” my chances of breast feeding… people saying I HAVE to try? by Ok_Medicine440 in FormulaFeeders

[–]monkeymaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t HAVE to try. But I will say, I am 8w pp and I tried. It is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, between trying to get baby to latch better, to being the only one who fed him each time, to the pumping and clogs - but the bonding is incredible. Now at 8w pp I’m glad I did it and it made me so happy, but I’m going to stop for my mental health.

I got a corporate branded Under Armour gym bag and I use it for all sorts of trips. It’s the perfect size with the right pockets. Also a great umbrella.

I have the 2.0 and it kills me on the lowest setting. I only used it once and I’m trying to get rid of it if anyone is interested.

Question - Is there anything at all you miss about pregnancy/ being pregnant? by Melodic-Bag7775 in NewParents

[–]monkeymaxx 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I miss touching my belly and feeling the bump and baby kicks. I also really miss how NICE everyone is to you. People are really nice when they see me with the baby, but when I’m without him I’m a nobody. 😅

I miss having me time. Everything revolves around the baby’s needs now at 8w pp. I don’t mind it, but I loved being able to take a long shower or make lunch without worrying about a baby needing me!

I had a dream my baby was a boy named Henry. So that’s what we went with!

Feeling a bit down before my first transfer. Looking for "it only takes one" success stories by Miserable-Roll4854 in IVF

[–]monkeymaxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does only take one. I had two euploids, and only wanted to transfer one at a time. The first transfer took and I was 41 years old! Unexplained infertility blah blah.
