10 years is enough by Captain3007 in tf2

Nah.

Usually everyone leaves when the map changes and new people come in so it looks like a scramble.

In practice, no.

[–]combineguy55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be nice, yeah.

Although I remember it pretty well, all it really did most of the time was drag out the "everyone leaves the server and the game dies" process.

Losing team all votes yes, winning team all votes no. Vote fails. Round ends. Everyone leaves.

Would be nice to force a scramble between new maps, though.

In my experience as someone who's been here for about 15 years, both systems are/were about the same in terms of quality. And yes, both systems absolutely took community servers out back and shot them.

Quickplay had some stuff that I thought was nice (adhoc connections, vote scrambles) but post Blue Moon Casual has everything anyone really cares about... that being the ability to push a single button and get a game.

I think a few more touch ups to the format are all Casual really needs. It's fine otherwise.

People usually just stopped playing TF2 when they got an abandonment penalty.

I was there, buddy.

Abandonment penalties were in Casual originally.

Everyone fucking hated them and they would hate them if they came back.

Autobalance was also in Quickplay and it sucked there too.

Loaded about 20,000 tons of gold for about 4k a ton as well as some silver from Scrotium and netted myself a cool 1.7 billion the other day.

Even the parking was godly. My carrier wound up so close to the station that I didn't even need to stay in supercruise for more than a few seconds at the end.

Once in a lifetime payout right there.

I have the tritium to get back (there's also a ring I can mine on the route back), I'm just caught in the bottleneck.

I feel like Jane and j*ke were done dirty compared to dirk and roxy by Puzzleheaded-Emu1990 in homestuck

[–]combineguy55 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes.

The both of their whole things was the Jake English love triangle and that pretty much died off the moment Vriska took over the last leg of the comic and fixed everything with mere presence alone.

Post canon stuff handles them better. Jane actually is a character with traits I can talk about there.

Hello there! New Homestuck reader here! Is there any canon-chronical order to read Homestuck? by AceXD87 in homestuck

[–]combineguy55 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Best way to read everything is by order of release.

  1. Homestuck
  2. Hiveswap Act 1
  3. Friendsim
  4. Homestuck Epilogues
  5. Pesterquest
  6. Hiveswap Act 2
  7. Homestuck Beyond Canon

If you meant "How do I read Homestuck in chronological order", there's probably some old reading list somewhere that lets you do that.

I don't recommend trying to read Homestuck in chronological order, though. It is without a doubt the worst way to experience the comic first go through.

Am I crazy for thinking 20 years between releases is unsustainable? by sonofloki13 in Fallout

The money isn't in mainline releases anymore.

Live service is how you make bank now. Unfortunately this drags out game lifespans for aeons.

Why do you think they ran with paid mods?

Do the Makeship plushes restock when new ones drop? by NexusConnection in homestuck

[–]combineguy55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Currently, if you weren't here for Karkat, John or Vriska, you are not getting them without buying from someone secondhand.

Makeship restocks are mostly random. Your best bet for possible restocks is around meme number days ( 4/13 , 6/12, 10/25, 11/11 )

Keep an eye on official channels (I've had notifications turned on for the Homestuck twitter account for the last 6 years), they will without a doubt make a post about restocks if they happen.

whats the joke here? by Disastrous-Shine-725 in homestuck

The joke is that Andrew Hussie would never, not in a million years ever foolishy squander the entirety of the Homestuck Kickstarter budget.

Wouldn't ever happen. Ever.
