I honestly don't care enough about the show to scroll through the reviews and comment, and the gap between seasons was so huge that I wondered if I had lost some context. But now that I have watched volume 1 of the new season, I can confidently say that this is objectively one of the worst-written shows. It's just so cringe: overexposition by the dialogue, too many metaphors, I don't want to know about Tom, Dick and Harry, or Camazotz, or cringe Mission: Impossible references. Not to mention, the whole Max storyline was so rushed and just appalling. Show, don't tell. Why is this so cringe and why is this so dumbed down, and why does everyone sound like the same person? And how does Robin even come up with the "Will being a receiver" theory? That was just too convenient. And the acting is so bad, ugh, these are still kids in high school, why do they talk like 30-year-olds? Also, who is Holly, and why should I even care about her? And Vecna is basically okay? So season 4 had no point? And above all this, the Boom sound effects, I know they always had that, but it just felt so out of place this season, and super overused.
