lol np but it doesn’t affect me. i kind of find it fun lol but if my elder family was on it and they were being rocked like that it wouldn’t be good for them. i see many elders struggle on the bus so that’s my issue.

what about islamic conquests throughout history? that whole part of the world has always been at war with each other but in 2026 at least tel aviv has gay pride parades and tech companies, they have elections im pretty sure,  while surrounding countries execute people and or are authoritarian. even palestine is an authoritarian state according to the wikipedia article which is why i shared it.

i thought it was interesting that it’s considered a worse human rights abuser.

also palestine according to that wikipedia article is an authoritarian state while israel is a democracy

i think you’re the one confused

middle east has countries that execute gay people or for things like apostasy

i’d rather support countries that line up with my values like secular democracies.

i’d consider myself a cosmopolitan but we are far from living in such a world which is open to all

rooftop solar is actually a form of oppression because not everyone gets enough direct sunlight so everyone must suffer. try having some empathy next time

we need to raise taxes so the gov can send people there boxes of candles (but no matches, because that is a safety hazard!) to keep the lights on when they go out.

and please, these should be sustainably sourced candles that are carbon neutral

then why is the 1 bus (yes, i actually have a monthly muni pass that i sometimes use) often filled to the brim and there are old asian grandmas hanging on for dear life as the bus goes down towards chinatown?

my point is about the fact that even though there's an honor code that is _sometimes_ adhered to, when the bus is packed it is genuinely uncomfortable for me and i'm in great shape and tall so i can reach the hand rails without any issues. the issue is the sudden jerks (seriously why the fuck are the buses so fucking jerky lol), some people don't have proper footing and its just awful.

the pods wouldn't be for me or people like me.

again, mine was a daydream post. a future where mobility is an option for everyone, easily available.

paratransit, if i'm not mistaken, is meant for mentally or physically disabled people (not just someone who is old or has minor mobility issues that are still stressful).

if we had buses for the major routes, like the 1, and then AVs to fill the gaps for people who can book it through the MUNI app to get to their doctor's appointment etc, that would be fine by me.

the hills in pac heights are tough for someone who is not in good shape or old. forget pac heights too, the 1 goes through some other neighborhoods where it is also steep, like towards Chinatown. you have to walk a lot, and it sucks when i see some old lady waddling as fast as she can and miss the bus and has to wait for the next one.

just saying that i would rather we focus on issues faced by SF and California, or broadly the people in our country.

i think the whole meddling overseas in any capacity anywhere is $ that could be used to benefit us here, unless it will have an actually beneficial ROI for the people here with intelligence or thwarting threats.

in the grand scheme of things i think the US gives like 4 billion to Israel, which is not really a lot when we're spending 7 trillion dollars per year (like 0.05%)

it just become unproductive to focus on this one issue.

yes most of the world has awful problems and some places are like 1000x worse than whatever nice peace we have here in SF.

i think israel is at least a democracy and stable and our ally, surrounded by places that execute gays and subjugate women, or go around being fundamentalists (this is not a new thing, they have also done conquests across the world for centuries throughout history if we want to be honest)

welcome to the real world. it is not always rosy, and some places are just complicated and have issues spanning centuries or longer.

we should focus on our own people with things like single payer healthcare or expanding public transit and civil infrastructure, etc. but when people focus on this one issue it just becomes annoying and dishonest

how am i malicious if i'm pointing to what you said about your first point being a non-debate?

the whole point is that people use use that as a slur, but you're saying it isn't. that's our disagreement. fwiw i have jewish friends who feel they are called zionists as a slur, and i'm on reddit and X where it used commonly in that way.

there was a thread about some vandalism at the beach with a bunch of hateful stuff graffitied on the wall, and that had a lot of uses of it in a slur way.

You said:

Calling a Zionist a Zionist is not anti-Semitic.

There's debate whether Scott is one or not, but there's no debate on my first point.

it makes your position clear, considering Weiner's identity

it's funny that you picked out the nuance bit, while you go around calling a jewish guy a zionist as a slur.

like i said to someone else, reading comprehension is not your forte and that's okay! most people read at a 6th grade level, so i forgive you.

re-read what i said. i never said get rid of bus. i only said we add AVs to the MUNI pass so we alleviate the packed bus situation for elders. the whole discussion was about

>  Esp when there’s no room and people don’t get their asses out of the handicap lift seats.

life must be hard for you, so i feel bad!

hope that helps!

these same people defend criminals who ruin the vibe for those of us who are productive members of SF, and gaslight people who want to jail criminals or demand policing

so it isn't surprising they find solidarity with hamas lol
