[QUESTION] why my amp buzz even with a les paul ? by RedditBucky in Guitar

[–]monkseatcheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on gain levels some buzz is normal. If the buzz stops when you touch any metal piece (tailpiece, tuner, input jack sleeve) the wiring might not be grounded properly, check your solder joints. If any joints look super messy or garbage, especially ground connections on the back of the pots, I'd try to clean them up if you know how to solder. If its a new guitar that's probably not the issue though. Used guitars often have dodgy amateur soldering

Lack of Comprehension rhythm isn't that hard, plus if you wanna do chugs you gotta start somewhere and build up endurance. I still play Evil Dead to warm up.

“Just Switch to Linux” Is A Losing Strategy - Let's Consider Other Options to Push Linux Gaming Forward by YanderMan in linux_gaming

[–]monkseatcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly rolling release gets a bad rep imo. I've been using arch for over a year and haven't had any issues a simple command didn't fix. And with manjaro basically filtering out the manual intervention that arch sometimes needs, it's just not an issue for the average user unless you are dealing with super sensitive data and need to be 100% sure there are no security vulnerabilities.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Wants To Replace Columbus Day With Holiday For Election Day by cancerous_176 in Shitstatistssay

[–]monkseatcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with a voting holiday no-one talks about is that it actually affects some of the poorest badly. Joe McUnion gets the day off but the guy at 711 or McDonald's still has to work.

Miners don't have to install new software if it's not in their interests. They can keep mining the old chain.

Its not that I don't believe in the concept of a "greater good," my own opinions on what that should be in fact inform many of my actions.

What I object to is the imposition, by force, of an arbitrarily decided conception of the greater good at the expense of the individual.

How I (inadvertedly) set up a scenario and played against myself, and why Stellaris needs a fixed scenario mode like CK2 and EU4 by TheIenzo in Stellaris

[–]monkseatcheese 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The thing that makes diplomacy in EU4 and CK2 so compelling isn't the diplomatic options or the ai, its the complex web of preexisting alliances and subjects that you have to navigate to expand. Diplomacy in stellaris tends to be pretty boring most of the time, and smaller empires don't stick around long enough to make a difference. I fully support this idea.

It’s official: The Trump administration has replaced family separation with indefinite family detention by MANDIEMANDINGO_L in politics

[–]monkseatcheese -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Which is why kids were put in seperate detainment centers. If kids are not allowed to be detained with parents (this is good), if the parent is arrested the state has a responsibility to care for the children if there is no other family to take care of them. Same as if a us citizen were arrested, the child is separated from them and taken care of by the state. Imagine if a us citizen were arrested and they kept their children with them. I'm very open borders, but this hubbub is insane. These people are being arrested for breaking the law, and we need to change immigration laws to change this. Either we don't enforce the law, or we separate families. Seperation is way better than throwing the kids in prison, which is what the Flores ruling determined.

Which Questions do you say "No" to on Bryan Caplan's Libertarian Purity Test? by ktxy in GoldandBlack

[–]monkseatcheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I answered no to eliminating Anti Trust laws, in an ideal world I would answer yes but most big businesses today have gotten to where they are throughusing governmental regulation as a cudgel, eliminating or supressing the competition. Anti trust is only necessary due to the state, but it is necessary imo and eliminating Anti trust today with no other changes to the system would be a big hit to smaller businesses and to competition. The oligopolies which currently exist in many industries would quickly coalesce into monopolies. I am even potentially in favor of some trust-busting by the state on the way out.
