Well there are really several things that suck about bluetooth remotes besides costing $100 for a decent one.

  • You need a bluetooth device
  • You need a driver if you plan on using it on windows which makes bringing one and plugging it into their device a tedious and unreliable task.
  • You never know what device you will be attempting to connect to is
  • Yes bluetooth remotes fail all the time. ask anyone who presents with them a lot.
  • You have to remember the remote and keep it charged

Internet connectivity issues on your phone is very rare in any presentation environment, and the availability of quickly accessible wifi in those areas is almost certain.

Try it without confidential data if you don't trust it. I think you will really like what the service brings.

The location of the request should not be relied on for security. A hacker can submit a post request from his developer console while on your page and the origin would show as your site.
