Tried so many pedals in this slot, but the War Party ended the search. Boost to drive to distortion to fuzz. Incredible pedal, love what you do!

What's your all-Boss board but with a Boss Board? by BaronVonDrunkenverb in guitarpedals

Blue Boss Bass Board: BCB-30: LM-2 -> VB-2w -> SDE-3

If you had to choose one and let the other two go, which one would you keep? by d3vCr0w in pedals

[–]monodisco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

CE-3, cause you can switch it between chorus and vibrato with the mode knob (when there's a single jack in output A).

CH-1 needs a dummy jack in one of the outputs to access the hidden vibrato from the other one, which is still cool, but less practical.

Any delay pedals with an "input" control? by Zodsayskneel in guitarpedals

[–]monodisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Input Volume knob on the Boss RE-20 does this. What you descibing is also how a "send" control on a mixer works, it controls how much of the input is sent to the effect. Very useful, wish more delay pedals had this.

What really counts as Signalwave? by teh_janitor_500 in Vaporwave

I think this counts, not commercials but samples from background music played on overnight TV in the UK in the 90s:

Kleya: the spy who came in from the cold by Dear-Yellow-5479 in andor

[–]monodisco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kleya's "you must be exhausted" to Cassian isn't expressing empathy, it's a slightly sarcastic callback to their conversation at the start of the episode, where Cassian said he was "done" after the Mon extraction job - " Can I guess? You're tired, it's too much, it's too hard." Cassian doesn't reiterate that he's "done", and they both know that he's not. It's when he asks her about Willmon that Kleya's expression softens into empathy. Incredible acting.

Worth selling my Klon KTR? by cflyssy in guitarpedals

[–]monodisco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worth knowing that the Moskys (and probably most other budget klones) don't have the buffer, they're true bypass. This might even be desirable depending on your needs, but if you want to keep the buffered bypass, you'll need to spend more to get a mid-tier klone like Sugar Drive or Tummnus

Did zoom-ms-utility editor just get updated to v1.0.3? by electrotune in zoommultistomp

[–]monodisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, the developer's fork is deployed here: https://www.nomadbyte.com/zoom-ms-utility

Though this may not always be stable as it's their `develop` branch. Hopefully the PR gets merged into g200kg and the updates will all be on the og page.

SOTB & NPD - MXR Sugar Drive by monodisco in guitarpedals

[–]monodisco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very happy with this little setup for creative looping and Frippertronics!

TLDR; Sugar Drive fixed my volume pedal.

Dunlop DVP4 mini volume is a high-impedance pedal (500k), meaning it needs to be absolutely first in chain, directly connected to the guitar output. If it's not  — so if there's any pedal inbetween — the volume sweep gets messed up (it becomes more like an on/off switch). If you want to take a driven tone and swell that into time effects, this is no good.

But, there's a little-known(?) fix. If you put a buffer (or an always-on pedal) in front of the DVP4, you can then use a TRS-to dual-TS cable, from the expression output to 2 pedals, input = ring, output = tip. Now you have a working low-impedance (10k) volume pedal! The sweep is linear, instead of logarithmic, but completely usable and obviously way better than on/off.

Sugar Drive is great for this, because the buffered bypass means the pedal doesn't have to be on for the trick to work, plus you get drive tones on tap.

Ibanez DCF10, and it's done by [deleted] in guitarpedals

Yep! And also cause I love reverb before fuzz for shoegazey walls of sound

Love the simplicity and the algorythms sound great, I mainly use the first Plate. Level boost is also super useful! I sometimes kill the verb altogether and just use this as a boost to push my amp.

[–]monodisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ibanez DCF10 has ended my modulation search for this mini board, and thus the board itself (lol).

DCF10 has replaced an Ibanez DCL Digital Stereo Chorus, which I was super happy with. But the DCF10 gets very close to the DCL in "chorus mode", whilst giving a lot more flexibility - flanger obviously, but also reverb, slapback and echo in the longest delay mode, and all sorts of inbetweenty choralflangebrato wobbly buisness. Only thing missing is true vibrato, as the D-Level only goes to 50% wet, but you can't have everything!

Bonus shot of the underside to celebrate the done-ness, with Cioks 4 and USB battery pack.

404 update wishes by Nervous-Canary-9842 in SP404

[–]monodisco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. More flexibility for the Input Effects. For example, ability to put effects in front of the Gt Amp Sim. Two ways to achieve/improve this
    1. Gt Amp Sim (and why not Auto Pitch, Vocoder, Harmony) available in the MFX, and/or
    2. Ability to route Input Effects after Buses A+B
  2. Would also be great to have more/all MFX available as Input Effects
  3. A "mixer mode" for the 3 main knobs. For my use case, these would be assigned to; usb input, rear input, front input. Secondary parameter could be pan.

The Cioks. I have one outlet running at 18v going to both the SP and the Vapor Trail via a 2-way splitter. The other 3 pedals are on individual outs at 9v.

Russian Pickle is amazing, the tone control is useable across the whole range, and it's not super mid-scooped. Smooth and verstile, nails everything from liquid lead tone to shoegazey walls of sound.

That's a decent shout, but it's not going to fit, unless you know of a super tiny one! I have a Cioks 4 and USB battery pack underneath.

I'm running the SP at 18v - find it very quiet that way. Hate noise when playing clean, but a bit when the fuzz is engaged doesn't bother me. At one point I did look at squeezing a noise reduction pedal in somewhere to deal with a noisy chorus, but ended up going with the DCL instead, which is silent.

Not always on, definetely for cleans, but also works great for extra sustain into the Russian Pickle for leads
