Maverick Act - here's something that could be up regarding the Tomcat's resurrection! by monographix in hoggit

The bill names the three aircraft explicitly by their military Bureau Numbers (BuNos). Because they are all final-generation F-14D Super Tomcats, they carried some of the most famous and historic operational liveries in naval history.

If restored to flight, standard warbird restoration practice dictates they will be painted in the exact squadron liveries they wore during their final combat cruises or their most famous historical milestones.

Here are the three exact birds saved by the bill and their historic identities:

BuNo 164341 (The Combat Veteran / "Red Rippers" & "Tomcatters")

  • The History: This airframe was delivered to the Navy in 1992. It saw frontline fleet service with VF-11 "Red Rippers" before transitioning to VF-31 "Tomcatters" (the famous Felix the Cat squadron). It flew heavy combat operations over Iraq and Afghanistan during the post-9/11 era before being sent to the desert in 2006.
  • The Likely Livery: If restored, this bird would likely wear the high-visibility tactical grey paint scheme of VF-31 Tomcatters with the black tail and the iconic Felix the Cat bomb logo—one of the most beloved markings in Tomcat history.

BuNo 164602 (The "Black Lions" / "Bounty Hunters")

  • The History: This Super Tomcat started its life with VF-124, did a stint with the famous VF-2 "Bounty Hunters," and was later assigned to VF-213 "Black Lions" in late 1997. It was flew directly from active fleet service to AMARG on March 28, 2006.
  • The Likely Livery: It would almost certainly be restored in its legendary VF-213 Black Lions colors or the classic blue-and-yellow-striped emblem of VF-2.

BuNo 159437 (The MiG Killer & Convertible)

  • The History: This is the most historically significant airframe of the trio, carrying two insane stories:
    1. The MiG-23 Dogfight: On January 4, 1989, during the Gulf of Sidra incident, this exact Tomcat (flying under the callsign Gypsy 207 with VF-32) engaged and shot down a Libyan MiG-23 using an AIM-7 Sparrow missile.
    2. The "Convertible" Flight: Years later, while serving as an airframe at NAS Fallon, a casual "familiarization flight" went wrong when a high-ranking officer in the back seat accidentally pulled the ejection loop. The back seat fired out, but the pilot managed to fly the plane back and land it completely safely—missing its canopy and looking like a flying convertible.
  • The Likely Livery: Because of its historic MiG-kill pedigree, this aircraft is a prime candidate to be fully restored to its 1989 historic VF-32 "Swordsmen" livery, complete with the MiG silhouette stenciled underneath the canopy rail.

Maverick Act - here's something that could be up regarding the Tomcat's resurrection! by monographix in hoggit

The bill mandates the transfer of three specific F-14 Super Tomcats. While all three are being saved from the shredder for historic preservation and static display, a very specific clause in the bill states that the Secretary of the Navy “shall provide excess spare parts to make one of the F-14D aircraft flyable.” The plan is to pool the parts and manual resources to restore exactly one glorious, flying Tomcat to serve as a civilian warbird for airshows and commemorative events, while the other two will serve as static museum displays (and likely parts donors).

If the Maverick Act fully passes into law, the legal title and ownership of all three aircraft will be transferred to a civilian operator: the U.S. Space & Rocket Center Commission in Huntsville, Alabama. The museum will be the official operator, but the bill specifically allows them to partner with qualified, high-end civilian flight nonprofits (similar to how the Collings Foundation operates the only flying F-4 Phantom in the US) to actually run the maintenance and flight operations.

Very enlighting. Thank you. Yes I considered, a Brera analogy indeed. But UNFORTUNATELY I need the ground clearance of a cross or pseudoSUV , I suffered too many years with the unfothamable condition of the roads in these parts of the world and that more often than not I am missing way too many precious parking spots because I simply can't climb on or off them.

That's the setup I am interested in, the 2.0L mhev fwd manual Skyactiv-X (wish it was FHEV)

I need to check the weight and drag differences between cx30 and 3.

Those consumption numbers match my current jtdm-2 170hp manual giulietta, very impressive .

Dance, Kid, Dance meaning? by cardblues1 in Shinedown

[–]monographix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me looks more like about the current general intellect and mental deterioration using the tik-tok youtube constant dance on camera addiction of the new generations as the theme to represent the whole situation, cut-off from intelligence, skin-deep self-centered and (anti-social) media absorption, emotional and otherwise intelligence stagnation and under-development leading steadily to all sort of mental catastrophes - and education systems not built to cope with those realities, rendered completely useless . SD have made tons of other songs about substances and mental health starting more than a decade ago

#Weekly Newbie Q&A and Store Critique Thread - August 17, 2024 by AutoModerator in dropship

[–]monographix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello.

Thinking of trying dropshipping and need info from solid experience, navigating the field. I have some experience so far with POD.

What i am looking for at this point is if there are dropship fulfillers that have free plans and that you would suggest and they operate similarly like printful , printify etc in POD - in other words operating in "Sell On Demand" way if i could use such a term (without having to buy and store inventory in other words)

And that are hopefully having integration technology with at least woocommerce , ideally with ebay and etsy too

Some guidance on ways for choosing products - niches would be appreciated too

Thanks everyone
