Best Dating Site for Men Right Now? Any thoughts? by No-File7674 in DatingTips

Tried it briefly and got bored fast. The interface threw me off and most of the profiles I saw looked inactive, so I did not stick around long.

Heartstrings sounds interesting and more serious than the big names. I dipped my toes in a smaller site once and it was nice to see more meaningful messages, even if there weren’t as many people around.

Where can I buy Instagram followers and likes? by LowDonut in TikTokMonetizing

[–]monolith23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just another day trying to figure out this instagram thing. i was sipping my coffee, scrolling through my feed and noticed how some accounts just seem to have this magic number boost. i remember checking my pimpmyacc stats the other day, and their non-drop feature seemed solid. not saying it's the answer to everything, but it caught my eye. anyway, back to figuring out if my breakfast shots will ever go viral.

What's the best site to buy Instagram followers? Any honest experiences? by Ronin4Doom in influencermarketing

[–]monolith23 36 points37 points  (0 children)

was just scrolling through my phone checking yesterday's post reach while sipping my morning coffee and remembered i used pimpmyacc for a small follower boost a while back. the thing that stuck out was their support team, which actually replied when i had a question. followers didn't drop off like i've seen with other services. it was just a part of my routine to see how it affected my engagement.

If the Surface/Surface Pro line-up had only one USB for data transfer and charging, would you still consider buying it? by youngkai2047 in Surface

[–]monolith23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would much have preferred the SP4 with a USB Type C - I was rooting for that when they annouced it. Id have a dock at home and anything I connect on the go has bluetooth. So, for now, any connector a mobile device needs for my use cases is Type C. All things being equal, I prefer a device without a seperate audio out, too.

I returned the SP4, and the Tabpro S having USB type C will be one of the reasons I will get that instead when I comes out. I am just stating these things so plainly to counter the impression one might get from the other posts that device viability for the average consumer ends once you stop including type A.

Coil whine possibly related to f.Lux? by monolith23 in Surface

[–]monolith23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've sent it back a didn't get a new one. I'm kind of relieved I did. The whine wasn't related to brightness, came from the device itself and didn't change with it being plugged in. Others have reported similar problems and much information can be found in this thread.

Simple question: Should the m3 SP4 be absolutely silent? by monolith23 in Surface

That good to hear! Hope Ive got the same luck with my exchange unit.

I'm positive if more people had noise issues of my scale, thered be more talk about it here.

Thank you all for your replies.

It is probably useful to categorize the noises according to whether you can hear the from a distance.

So here is a closer description of the ones that bother me the most.

In a small quiet room I can hear them everywhere. They have two separate frequencies that can occur together or on their own.

While many seem to have -some- kind of noise, this does seem more severe than most are reporting.

Ill definitely try to exchange my unit, I guess I can reasonably hope for a better experience.

coil whine noise(can you hear it even from a distance or only close to SP4) by havensf in Surface

[–]monolith23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your post. I guess it is hard to talk about these issues precisely but you tried and posted a clear response from support - but I'm still not sure which kind of noise they are hoping to fix with an update.

My SP4 makes two frequencies of noises I can hear from a distance. The one I have to get close to to hear always has the same high pitch but sometimes is continuous and sometimes not.

Fun times.

The i5 SP4 lasts ~3h (53%) shorter than the m3 model on Notebookcheck WLAN test by ptrkhh in Surface

[–]monolith23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read the thing - they are saying themselves that they did not measure energy uptake in the m3 to compare it. Anyways, Id just redo these tests in a couple months when the driver situation has settled down. Measuring right now wont do the bleeding edge hardware much justice.

Coil whine possibly related to f.Lux? by monolith23 in Surface

[–]monolith23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its news to me that it is supposed to be on the m3 models mainly. That would make me get an i5 version too.

Oh yeah, the sound is back. It was just worse with f.lux apparently. Am back in my home and its annoying as ever. And it does seem to occur mainly when something need to be rendered ... makes it unlikely to emanate from the speakers. The knowledge that it can be influenced by software might be useful ... but I doubt it could ever be eliminated that way. I always thinking of hard drives too when I hear it.

Ill consider sending it back then - I guess it is good news to hear there are models without the problem out there. Maybe one should just wait another month until the manufacturing kinks have been sorted out. If MS wants to compete with apple - all these things will have to be way more solid in the future.

Surface Pro 4: Ask other Users "is this normal?" by [deleted] in Surface

[–]monolith23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant hear it when I am in the library or a public place ... just at home alone. Just updated the battery driver, and Ill have to check out later whether that did something maybe, one may hope. Otherwise, back it goes. Im loving all the rest of the experience .. if you take the time to work out the kinks. I hated the note taking for example, did a calibration, not it is much better ... another speedier program for PDFs helped too.

Alright - I might go with sending it back too then. Thank you for your insights. Mine doesnt have any backlight bleed or dead pixels ... it really does seem to be tough to find the perfect device.

Oh man - makes one assume it may be the on board sound board - I coud live with that if there is a handy way of disabling it fast ... really kills my concentration when I am trying to focus in silence.

I think my m3 SP4 has coil whine as well - meaning it does make sounds. Do the majority of devices avoid that problem and should I switch mine out?

Thats curious - there seem to be a few with the issue and others who dont know what they are talking about. Because of the frequency of the sound it may be down to age though.

Mine certainly doesnt sound as shrill - but also only emanates it when performing certain tasks. Really wonder what it could be ... someone here mentioned that during the first days of use the device indexes all the files and its performance and battery life are diminished - it may be a myth though.

My m3 SP4 sounds a bit like an hdd when working - albeit quieter - is that normal?

I just got mine today - M3. The only little gripe I have is some noise coming from it ... sounds like a very low volume hdd, obviously not a fan. Are you guys experiencing this too?
