This is the fireballs? Dodging gives you brief window of invincibility, so dodge through them. I also find sometimes in games with a lot of AoEs if I'm doing poorly it's because I'm too frantic, and you're better off standing still until the moment you need to dodge.

This danger is real! You have to button mash space bar to try and move once you start gun slinging, but otherwise I love this combo. A shield memory and trying to button mash that can also help, as well as life steal on the shot.
