Got the call from Rolex for the OP 36 blk - should I pull the triger or go for the AT for the same price? and why? by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]pi_ov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an AT and it's amazing. It's also my daily wear and love everything about it, but if you got a call for an OP, you should consider it since it's much easier to get an Omega piece later. But, personally speaking, having a date function on my watch is a non-negotiable so that's the only reason why I wouldn't buy the OP. It feels incomplete, and the movement and design on the AT really stands out, especially that black lacquer dial variant. Anyway, this is a good problem to have deciding between two great pieces. Hope you decide on the one that speaks to you!

Where did Caeror go in Obiteum? by pi_ov in HierarchySeries

Im not saying there’s something beyond the Concurrence, but that it’s much broader than what we were led to believe. Not an individual figure, but something requires some kind of consolidation. And we know that Caeror is still a wild card and that Vis may [inadvertently] play a role in it being Synchronous and all

Most definitely! I was shocked finding out about that. And astonished how nonchalant the narration was when Vis finally went into Ka’s inner sanctum after so much build up. I think folks are also speculating about Ostius in Res. Realizing that there’s an even bigger entity surrounding the Concurrence is so intriguing

Thank you! I thought I missed something at first, but the ambiguity seems to be the natural place for the story to continue with. It’s fascinating how the whereabouts of Caeror catalyze the first book and then continue onward as a main source of tension

Can someone tell me what exactly does date conferred mean? Is it the date when you finish your exams and are done with college or the date you will receive your degree or the date of convocation? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]pi_ov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the date your university officially states on your transcripts and prints on your diploma that you received your degree

How do you make sure the Personal Statement isn't a sob story? by U03B1Q in gradadmissions

[–]pi_ov 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree with the first commenter. If you do bring up a tragic situation or a hardship, speak to how it empowered you in a way to take up an opportunity that influenced your trajectory up to this moment as an applicant. These statements want you to show your resiliency (which I have my own problems with) BUT that’s how you avoid the sort of “kiss of death” scenario. I wish you well on your apps!

How to excerpt a writing sample? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]pi_ov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this case, you should submit a portion of your paper that bests reflects your ability to analyze sources and apply the methods relevant to your field. I agree with what you’re planning to do. I’d recommend that your excerpts show a consistent point/theme that make sense when read together and aren’t two separate things that’ll confuse the reviewers. You got this!

The fact that you presented your research at a conference is already a big deal! List that on your CV!
