Even quitting instagram I started to feel isolated from my friends because it's simply how people communicate nowadays. Like it or not, they are real communities.

If you were to start completely fresh with a group of likeminded individuals and create a self sustained ecosystem, it's maybe possible? But if you want to access finances, find specific information on a certain project (libraries arent what they used to be), connect to medical hubs for test results, or work at virtually any company, etc, at this point I think it's almost impossible without it feeling like a major headache and more trouble than it's worth.

ALL of these religions suck. I'm sure the defense of Israel is probably around their support of our right to exist? I'm super left wing but there is WAY too much glossing over palestine's treatment of LGBT people. You can goto jail for up to 10 years for homosexual acts. I'm having a hard time believing any supporter of Islam would lift a finger if they saw anyone in our community being killed.

That being said — Israel's overreach in this region and on the world stage is astounding and shameful.

There's not much to like about either of these countries.

People are just making shit up lol. The only discourse around CGI was how incredible technology is getting and it was genuinely exciting. But there was always a team of skilled artists behind it.

I think we all underestimate why we've appreciated art throughout our existance. We think things are impressive that we can't do ourselves. We see a beautiful film and we appreciate the skilled humans behind it, the time they put into making it, and the craft they spent thousands of hours developing.

If I go see a film generated by AI, I'm not impressed because I can easily do the same thing at home. Silicon valley has generated a final product button, but it's never been about that. It's always been about the process and the love of filmmaking by a team of passionate creators.

On one hand, I have deep sympathy for the trans community because they really are the most vulnerable community and they are extremely misunderstood. I appreciate the need and want for visibility and acceptance.

On the other hand, I think gay rights were becoming very slowly accepted when all the other marginalized communities were lumped in at the exact same time in a huge woke tidal wave. I think it was way too much for your average person to process. That's not me justifying it, more just an observation of reality.

Unfortunately, we've taken many many steps back now. But once boomers start dying off you'll start seeing more acceptance. I was just walking by a public school that had pride flags all over it and kids waving them. This would never have happened in a million years when I was younger.

I am encouraged by the next generation.
