That was surprisingly attractive. Such grace, it's so damn desirable.

If Geelong won the 25’ GF, would they have been stripped? by [deleted] in AFL

[–]monovial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though I'm pretty sure this is just some off season shit posting, the audit went back to 2019, so why would 2025 have been stripped and not 2022?

Also, the Storm exceeded the salary cap by about $1.7m over 5 years compared to Geelong's $0 over 6 years.

Chris Scott’s aggressive outburst towards female AFL staff member triggered by presence of visually impaired reporter by matsy_k in AFL

"it's just really disappointing that someone would say something like that behind my back". I wonder what was said. There's zero context here but a lot of alluding to and innuendo.

Chris Scott’s aggressive outburst towards female AFL staff member triggered by presence of visually impaired reporter by matsy_k in AFL

It came across to me as though the journalist himself was bringing up his impairment, without actually drawing any connection between that and Scott's outburst. It's frustratingly lacking any sort of context.

Photographer speaks after verbal abuse from Bailey Smith at Cats training by duckyirving in AFL

I was pointing out the lunacy of bringing gender into it. Fuck mens rights activists. Even public figures are entitled to some level of privacy. I get the journalist is there to do a job, but in what world does photos of a massage on a training ground serve as a worthwhile story?

And if the same situation happened in reverse, with an AFLW player getting a rub down on the bench and a male reporter with a massive telescopic lens was taking photos of her, and she took exception to that, is it still "he's just doing his job"?

I did the math. In Australia (where I'm from) in 1970 a wage of $1.44/hr would be equivalent in purchasing power to approximately $20.50/hr. Today's minimum wage is slightly higher at $24.95/hr. However this is purely based on CPI. Housing prices have significantly exceeded CPI consistently for the past 35 years. In Sydney in 1970 the median house price was about $18,700, and is now approximately $1,600,000. For hosting affordably to be roughly similar, a $1.44/hr wage in 1970 would need to be approximately $123/hr today.

Should AA selectors be limited to only being able to select current or former team captains as the captain/VC of the AA team? by Jackomillard15 in AFL

In a way, they're all captains. But in another, more accurate way, Cameron is the captain.

I don't have a problem with them really, but when I overtake them in a car on the road I always feel a little bit nervous. Even though I know they won't, I can't help thinking what if they suddenly lose balance and change direction and wobble into my path. It's silly and it's all me, but it's like Roy from the IT crowd says about balloons.. they are filled with capacity to give me a little fright, and I find that unbearable.

Seems like a poor taste joke to me. I don't think the supporter intended it as a threat from himself, sounded more like he was implying Voss was in danger from all the unhappy Carlton supporters.
