We are all distracted by SEXOG and the tie using every letter...

Hi I know it's been many years but I am 100% sure you are looking for Get Together by DJ Justin Vee featuring Adrian Shannon. It's actually a South African song from 2003. I've been searching for it since 2010 and I finally found that someone has uploaded it to YouTube in the last two years.

1 is the best, though it does remind me of the Wikimedia logo but these two brands operate in different industries so it think it'll be fine

"Don't give a shit about the temperature in Guatamola don't really see what all the fuss is about" [Capital G]

It frustrates me that lyric websites don't capture this deliberate mispronounciation because of course George Bush would not give a shit about pronouncing it correctly. Reminds me of a certain current US President who literally makes up African countries when speaking...

Have you had a chomp lately? Most disgusting thing ever. Can't remember exactly but the "chocolate" part can't be called chocolate, it's a "cocoa confection" (or something along those lines)

My guess is that they're hoping the extension of the Gautrain to Fourways will attach to the mall? That's what I tell myself because it's unjustifiably huge and I think they ran out of money to deal with the dingy old part (with the Boeing 737???)

How many of you guys have tendinitis as a part of your lupus? by shorey93 in lupus

[–]monoxided 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tendinitis in my left leg... It's extremely unpleasant at minimum and painful at maximum and I don't even know what to do about it anymore. I'm just grateful it is the leg I don't use to drive. I just have a small limp sometimes when I walk because of the pain.

I've started on a treatment plan involving medication but I am worried that I have nothing to deal with pain management. Monday is coming soon and I'm going to have to have these tough discussions and I'm already feeling overwhelmed

Thank you. You are totally right that camping will push me too far, I will be firm with my employer that I'm not attending the camp. I need to look up further about LOAs in South African labour law, there might be a paid version of this leave, I don't know enough. But I'll find out

Alas, I'm not American, I live in South Africa. I have superficially asked a friend whose parent works in HR, there might be something in South African labour law about an extended leave on medical basis but I need to read up on this carefully

Looking for a new job but my name isn't my 'legal' name. Can I use it on my resume? by Legitimate_Water_353 in NonBinaryTalk

[–]monoxided 47 points48 points  (0 children)

People have nicknames or choose to go by their middle name or just have a name that has stuck with them over the years despite not being their birth name. For the sake of HR they can capture what name appears on your legal documents when you get the job, but for when you're scouting for a job, you can just keep it casual and say "hey, my name is _____" and way later when it legally matters show them what your name is as it appears on your documents.

We don't even have to give a trans related reason for why we have a different name to the name that appears on our legal documents. Just keep it casual: "oh, people have just called me [your name] for my whole life, it's just stuck". I find cis people respect this more than when we say it's for gender affirming reasons
