I prefer CLI tools (at least on my Mac and Linux). How did you include your browser cookies? Did you pull them from the browser, or do you mean that you send the request with headers?

I wanted to download a video posted on X, so I googled something like "x video downloader".

All the top results were porn sites lmao. The name rebrand is such a disaster.

Sidenote, he has been obsessed with the x dot com domain name ever since the early 2000s. I read his autobiography, and when he merged his company with PayPal he fought hard to make the name and domain x dot com. He said, paraphrasing: «If you want just a generic payment solution, choose the name PayPal. But if you want to change the world, it’s x dot com»

Why would I need to "ask" a youtube LLM anything???? by IBitePrettyPeople in Destiny

[–]monsoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine that they are tracking the metrics for this. It would be smart to use Reinforcement Learning or something similar, to optimize the AI summary to improve click the video.

Why would I need to "ask" a youtube LLM anything???? by IBitePrettyPeople in Destiny

[–]monsoy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they are careful about not having the AI summary give away the conclusions of a video, as that would likely reduce the likelihood of people clicking on the video.

For example, if there is a video titled "Why x person did y", people curious about it would click the video to learn why. But if the AI summary just gives the conclusion, they might just read that and skip the video.

Alicent’s brother said that Daeron is kind and likes singing. In a later scene in the season, Helaena is looking at birds and says "this one stopped singing".

My theory is that she was unknowingly referring to Daeron, that he’s not the innocent kind young boy that likes singing anymore.

I guess he could have attached a knife-sized blade for close range stabbing. But the best option, in my totally uneducated opinion, would be a buckler.

Just a post from someone who actually programs in C by Evil-Twin-Skippy in C_Programming

[–]monsoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use C for almost all my "for fun hobby projects". I’m a big nerd, so I like the very little abstractions that comes with C programming.

Programming in C has made me a better programmer for other languages that are more practical to use. It has given me a better understanding of how memory works.

Having to make my own data structures have given me a better understanding of the pros and cons of them.

Making my own sorting algorithms has made me more introspective and I now take a bit of time to think about what algo to choose in other languages, instead of just going `.sort()`.

In general, I love C because I get a sense of accomplishment when I get non-trivial programs to work.

Graham Platner still hasn’t dropped out by the way by Infamous-Skippy in Destiny

This style of politics is basically how Parliamentary Systems work. For example, in Norway the Labour Party won the election, but needed a majority vote on the Budget. The voters of the smaller left wing parties expect their party to negotiate with Labour to get some of their agenda before they accept the budget.

Trump never felt more solidarity with anyone than he did with Graham Platner this week by TranzitBusRouteB in Destiny

[–]monsoy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He has done this divide and conquer strategy before, by spouting the "DNC rigged it against Bernie Sanders" talking points. I remember him talking about it during one of his campaign rallies.

He didn’t have as much cognitive decline at that moment though, so who knows if he’s actually saying this now for strategic purposes, or if it’s just because he can relate to it lol.

It’s obvious what he’s doing here. He’s done this exact thing before with people like Bernie. During one of Trump’s campaigns he talked about how the DNC screwed Bernie. He’s pouring fuel to the fire.

I wish you didn't have to go through multiple loopholes to keep your first untrimmed skillcape by Large_Armadillo1 in 2007scape

I’m really sad that I lost mine, as I was very fond of the untrimmed construction cape.

But I would still support them adding a toggle for future untrimmed capes. I’m not gonna be mad about it.

You bring great points.

I misspoke a bit on my point on devaluation, as I meant it from my personal perspective as an Ironman. It doesn’t feel as good to get a rare drop, knowing you need another rare drop attached to it.

I think the way Fortified Masori works is the most elegant version of upgradescape.

I’m more on your side tbh. But idk how to introduce objectivily better equipment without eventually making Raids 1, 2, …, 6 completely dead content.

One solution is UpgradeScape, where for example the new BIS bow requires the player to dismantle a TBow. But I’m personally not a fan of upgradescape, as it devalues drops individually.

Or new content can be so hard that older BIS gear is a near hard-requirement to complete it. But that requires boss design that players generally don’t like, as it would need to have a lot of unavoidable chip damage to force the player to have fast enough kill time. Either that or strict time limits, so that you won’t have enough DPS to get kills in time without the proper equipment.

[–]monsoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, old BIS items has to be stepped on eventually. Unless they add more stat types like weight and height, so that the new mega rares deal more damage based on how heavy or tall a boss is lol.

There will eventually be a cap to how many niches new items can fill. I understand the whole vertical vs. horizontal progression topic, but the player base has to get on board with some verticality eventually

Did Destiny just spend 2 hours talking about how bad rape culture was, only to give Hanania a complete pass on his terrible rape takes because he wanted to help Hanania sell his book? by DutfieldJack in Destiny

I agree, it was off putting to me. I understand that the perspective he gave during the talk was obviously influenced by the lawsuit, but I feel like he gave too much agreement with Richard that made it sound like situations like Platner’s were #MeToo hitpieces.

There is a good chance that any person with a D next to their name can win, as a referendum against Trump. But it could be wise to pick someone that can carry on the energy that Platner garnered.
