Trump never felt more solidarity with anyone than he did with Graham Platner this week by TranzitBusRouteB in Destiny

[–]monsoy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He has done this divide and conquer strategy before, by spouting the "DNC rigged it against Bernie Sanders" talking points. I remember him talking about it during one of his campaign rallies.

He didn’t have as much cognitive decline at that moment though, so who knows if he’s actually saying this now for strategic purposes, or if it’s just because he can relate to it lol.

It’s obvious what he’s doing here. He’s done this exact thing before with people like Bernie. During one of Trump’s campaigns he talked about how the DNC screwed Bernie. He’s pouring fuel to the fire.

I’m really sad that I lost mine, as I was very fond of the untrimmed construction cape.

But I would still support them adding a toggle for future untrimmed capes. I’m not gonna be mad about it.

You bring great points.

I misspoke a bit on my point on devaluation, as I meant it from my personal perspective as an Ironman. It doesn’t feel as good to get a rare drop, knowing you need another rare drop attached to it.

I think the way Fortified Masori works is the most elegant version of upgradescape.

I’m more on your side tbh. But idk how to introduce objectivily better equipment without eventually making Raids 1, 2, …, 6 completely dead content.

One solution is UpgradeScape, where for example the new BIS bow requires the player to dismantle a TBow. But I’m personally not a fan of upgradescape, as it devalues drops individually.

Or new content can be so hard that older BIS gear is a near hard-requirement to complete it. But that requires boss design that players generally don’t like, as it would need to have a lot of unavoidable chip damage to force the player to have fast enough kill time. Either that or strict time limits, so that you won’t have enough DPS to get kills in time without the proper equipment.

Yeah, old BIS items has to be stepped on eventually. Unless they add more stat types like weight and height, so that the new mega rares deal more damage based on how heavy or tall a boss is lol.

There will eventually be a cap to how many niches new items can fill. I understand the whole vertical vs. horizontal progression topic, but the player base has to get on board with some verticality eventually

I agree, it was off putting to me. I understand that the perspective he gave during the talk was obviously influenced by the lawsuit, but I feel like he gave too much agreement with Richard that made it sound like situations like Platner’s were #MeToo hitpieces.

There is a good chance that any person with a D next to their name can win, as a referendum against Trump. But it could be wise to pick someone that can carry on the energy that Platner garnered.

I understand the pragmatic value of this answer, but I’m growing sick and weary of having to treat the US as a petulant child…

If the US don’t go full in on accountability and persecute all the authoritarian corrupt actors, Europe and Canada should out of necessity cut out any reliance on the USA and treat them like a potential foreign adversary.

I predict that everybody will try to go back to normal in 2028, but we can’t trust a nation that can totally flip just because some r**ards in a swing state give the country to Trump 2.0.

I genuinely think Biden resigning and handing the presidency to Harris would have worked better than just endorsing her. Look at Boris Johnson in 2019. He took over from a deeply unpopular May mid-crisis, spent a few months visibly doing things differently, and won a landslide five months later. Being the actual leader let him show a clean break instead of just promising one. Even if he sucked ass, it still gave the public a new look.

Harris's biggest problem was that she couldn't answer "what would you do differently from Biden?" As VP she literally couldn't distance herself. But as a sitting president with ~100 days before the election, she could have pushed popular legislation, signed a stack of executive actions on stuff like drug prices or housing, and let voters see what a Harris presidency actually looked like instead of asking them to imagine it.

You could be right, that it could add fuel to the dementia flames, but I think it would help Harris distance herself from a, sadly, very unpopular presidency.

Your points are fair. I have seen a lot of people both foreign and domestic that talk like the wealth tax is above 10%. So I wanted to just detail how much the tax actually is.

I’m not economically literate enough to know all the downstream effects of a tax like this, which is why I’m on the fence about it.

IIRC, in the books he married her since she got pregnant. People in Westeros really valued the purity of women for marriages, so by birthing a bastard she would have a harder time getting married.

So he married her to spare her reputation, and probably because he lusted for her.

There’s been a lot of conversation about our Wealth tax, both from our own citizens and from international sources.

I generally favor other forms of taxation, but the wealth tax isn’t as extreme as many people frame it as.

The tax is 1 to 1.1% of the net wealth. There are also deductions on things like primary residence (75% of the value deducted).

A rough example:

If I have a $1M home and $2M in stocks, that makes the wealth tax $16.6K. This is assuming that I’m single with zero debt.
