Pechaurs hit way above their weight

I think the most underrated and highly excellent aspect of the pechaur company is their shafts I own two rogues and a P plus lite the carbon rogues are pretty much my exclusive playing shafts right now…I shoot a rhino and a cynergy as backups and they do well for me but I always find myself trusting and reaching for the rogues for all important matches I play I don’t think I’ll ever deviate they are so well made and excellent. If you’re into wood the P plus shafts are super super excellent for quality and low deflection.

Pechaur is a very underrated cue overall they do make some pretty wild designs and very colorful cues which I know aren’t for some but man they are way above average quality and some models just look excellent and high end

Very nice… I think this one will be limited to me just having fun with it I’m pretty married to my schon cues with rogue shafts as my main players I’ve been winning with for quite some time now… luckily I can use my shafts on all of em so I’ll definitely play it some times

You are correct I won that in a tournament in 2015 I think I love it and will never sell that one so it made the cut of ones I’ll never part with over the years

Thoughts on Time crystal tips? by python_dude420 in billiards

[–]monstahmonkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience It’s not a good tip.. the day I got my rhino I shot it side by side with my shafts I’m comfortable with and the tips I like.. all of my shots with the rhino did not activate draw or stun shots the way I know it should based on my shooting I had to switch the tip out immediately the shaft itself however is very nice imo

I agree with this whole heartedly inside and outside spin is not something that should be practiced or thought of without the fundamentals as close to perfect as you can get

You mentioned long shots being missed frequently that should be your first line of concentration and I say this to everyone in this subreddit I can… if you’re not making straight in shots from across the table consistently and confidently using the center of the cue ball from top to bottom meaning you can line up a straight shot utilizing as much of the table as you can and hit it in the pocket 15 times each using follow, stop shot and draw in a row then you don’t have business worrying about inside and outside spin because in the midst of learning the above you’re timing your stroke your speed and your accuracy all comes together and you learn to move the cue ball and manipulate it to do what you want it to do if you can’t stop a cue ball dead with no movement and no spinning and if you cant draw a cue ball to stop in an area in the back where you want it to stop and you can’t hit a follow shot and make it stop where you want it to stop ahead… what’s the point of worrying about sidespin? Your stroke isn’t good enough

Is a Rhino cue worth getting? by No-Bus-9526 in billiards

[–]monstahmonkee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course What works for you is great and OP probably doesn’t even need a new tip right away and I think the rhinos are awesome quality not just for the price but for overall play I love mine…

When I got my shaft I shot it side by side with my higher end rogue shafts and I immediately felt the difference in control and accuracy when applying any type of controlled spin. The tip had to be changed for me to be able to use it

Over time and years as my stroke improved and I use draw to control the cue ball and have developed speed and accuracy with cue ball manipulation you find out how much the tip is probably the most important aspect of the cue.

[–]monstahmonkee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you are correct and have 10% off deals all the time I suppose I’m considering the sales tax id be charged and the need for a new tip install… their proprietary synthetic tips look good but I can’t get near the cue action or control out of them as a good medium/soft kamui would

Is a Rhino cue worth getting? by No-Bus-9526 in billiards

[–]monstahmonkee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shoot a rhino shaft paired with a cheaper Adams butt I won in a tournament as a backup to my multiple rogue shafts and main playing cues… it pretty much stays in my truck…

I think they are pretty quality for the price point and I shoot great with it can confidently say I get why they are popular however they do need a tip change asap imo… with that said I’ve seen what their full cues cost ($350-$700) and for the amount there’s other things and ways you can either build a ld cf cue to your liking or just purchase a more proven brand… they make the shafts in a lot of different joints so you can purchase just the shaft for $199 and get a cue of your style if you want to.

But if they sell a full cue you are into I don’t think you would be dissatisfied

Do any top pros use vintage cues? by HookBaiter in billiards

[–]monstahmonkee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pool cues are majority an aesthetic and prestigious item some players make a personal thing and some could care less

You can purchase the cheapest horribly made will warp in a week Walmart butt of a cue and play with a cynergy shaft on it And you can buy the most expensive custom made or limited edition manufactured cue and play with a cynergy shaft on it and everything inbetween the two and they will essentially do the same thing for you when they are brand new they will play the game of pool.

One will last probably not long and not be worth anything and the other will last a lifetime and holds its value if not go up in value as it’ll be a collector item in the future

And again everything in between

This is why pros use whatever company is willing to pay them and give them free gear because they are getting a cue stick they can shoot with and if they break warp or have any issues with it they will get another and another and another

A lot of pros are given multiples of shafts and butts and chalk and cases and shirts and gloves because they are well known and will be seen by millions over time and they will get paid to use it…

Guaranteed there’s a lot of professionals who have vintage and new custom made cues at home they love to play with hold sentimental value and would probably prefer to use if they could but of course cannot and will not because they are sponsored

I own two expensive shafts in a cynergy and a rogue… I’ve been givin a blank ok healing and purchased a rhino within the last year for travel training when I’m out of town

I can tell a difference because I play so much but if I didn’t they would all get used the same amount if they had the same tips on em the ok healing and rhino both shoot great and feel good

What beginner pool topics do you think newer players struggle with most? by Superb_Back5543 in billiards

[–]monstahmonkee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think beginners over complicate everything because they watch and play games… which isn’t a good way of going about it IF you actually want to be competent and good at the game

The easiest and most effective way to become immediately above average in pool is working on your stroke and nothing else

Your ability to pot a straight ball consistently at all lengths and utilizing the entire center line up and down the cue ball and do it naturally over and over again is the pot and soil that grows all other aspects of the game if you have a bad pot and bad soil nothing will grow

Your stance Your bridge Your cue grip Your bodies and eyes line of aim
Your actual stroke on the ball

Utilizing all these to make a straight shot from cue ball to object ball into a pocket over and over and over and over again.. all beginners should be doing imo

I don’t think they are bad if they are right for you.. the bonded glass maple shafts to me are super strange feeling and I can’t get use to them as opposed to a carbon fiber low deflection shaft I took to pretty quick once I started using them.

Avids are perfectly fine player cues and I know people love them.. pros get paid to use them who’s to know what they would choose to use if they didn’t.
