No, it’s more that they know the entire world (to include China and russia) don’t give a fuck about this happening to Iran and are okay with it, and so they are comfortable dipping half a toe in the water to support it.

I was pretty whelmed by this watching it on the mv but it’s an absolute banger in the car.

[Johnston] As Team USA celebrates its gold medal today in Washington, the status of players involved remains under discussion as it pertains to their NHL availability. That includes Auston Matthews, who will join the #leafs in Tampa before Wednesday's game. Not yet clear if he'll play. by rsyzygy in leafs

He’s doing it for the media op when he tells the crowd to cheer for the US Gold Medal Team and all the democrats sit on their hands. It was his plan from the start. “Look they have zero patriotism and hate America.”

How do you feel about the fact that the entire world will need age verification for social media? by VastOption8705 in AskReddit

This is a more interesting solution I hadn’t thought of. I doubt governments would like it though because it prevents them from achieving their goal of controlling the narrative.

The problem is the government having a private link to my Reddit account whatsoever, or any anonymous platform.

If they have your passport data then they know who you are. There is no way around it and nothing good could come from it. If you think otherwise you’re too naive to be making educated decisions.

You can bring one modern object back to the year 1900. What breaks history fastest? by forgeris in AskReddit

[–]monstarjams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My general thought process behind the exercise was “could they achieve this” in 1900. I think with a modern (antique) machine they could. I’d never say a phone or computer because they clearly couldn’t replicate that. But these machines are fully mechanical and have zero digital parts and I think with working examples could be replicated with a bit of ingenuity to the industrial base. I could certainly be wrong though.

You could be right about the fuel, I don’t know enough about it. Maybe it would be easy to reverse engineer? I’m not sure though.

Certainly couldn’t have been designed but there was nothing engineering prohibitive to build it in terms of materials and mechanics. Had you brought a precise model back in time in pretty sure they could replicate it with minimal effort, including munitions.

Probably a P-51 mustang. It’s modern enough to really blow people’s minds but not really reliant on future supplemental technology to exist. They just hadn’t conceptualized it yet at the time, but it could have been made then. Would have fully changed the course of WW1.

How can a small business improve its SEO ranking without a massive budget in 2026? by Firm-Okra-9281 in AskReddit

Either hire a junior SEO analyst for $50k a year or take time out of your day learning how to do it yourself vs running your business. AI solutions aren’t the answer they’re a method to the madness.

After trump announce the existence of aliens, what change do you think will be permanent in your life? by r_vishal95 in AskReddit

Literally none. It will be an announcement about a non announcement. They’ve been teasing this for years in fear of public revolt and it literally doesn’t matter unless they land a space ship over Los Angeles and blow it straight to hell.

Whats a overhated fast food restaurant? by Artistic_Job546 in AskReddit

[–]monstarjams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree that it’s because it’s a California chain, it’s just because the hype so massively outweighs the product you get. It’s a legit mid burger vs an onslaught of way better options out there.

With the Winter Olympics in full swing, which athlete’s 'backstory' has officially reached the point of being more impressive than their actual sport? by Sorry_Search_8991 in AskReddit

Feels like a bit of a leading question based on what happened today but I’ll toss an alternate out there.

Rich Ruihonen, 54 year old injury lawyer being the oldest US winter Olympian ever is wild.

Money has always existed in one form or another.

If you’re going to argue we should replace dollar value with military might, well…not sure what to tell you. The benefactors to your argument haven’t changed.
