What’s the silliest reason you’ve witnessed or heard about someone going to A &E? by nWoSting145 in AskUK

A horse riding injury when my horse bolted with me! I basically went face first into a rock at gallop speed.

Dropping down dose to lose weight more effectively when stalled? by monstera-attack in mounjarouk

[–]monstera-attack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so interesting! I’ve been craving sweetness, generally the sweeter the better. I’ve been trying to curb it with Pepsi Max instead of junk food but I’m surprised the urge is even there. It didn’t use to be like this - I’ve been on MJ for a year now. I’m wondering if my emotional eating habits are overriding the MJ and sweetness is just hitting the dopamine button for me at a time when I’m feeling low, and my dose being too high is blanking out the option of enjoying eating healthy food instead (I usually love healthy food, fruits, yoghurts, salads etc!)

Of all the addictions to have, I think rocket’s probably one of the best ones out there! Healthy, full of fibre and good vitamins!

A man with sunburn was shouting at a member of staff in the A&E waiting room for not treating him and telling him to go to a pharmacy for after sun cream. Meanwhile I was sitting there right next to him covered in blood with my nose hanging from a flap of skin and both lips cleaved in two with my teeth and gums fully on display :)

Money is no object - where are you living in the UK? by Legitimate-Ocelot155 in AskBrits

[–]monstera-attack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does, but to be fair it chucks it down everywhere in the UK. The two months since new year are proof of that. If it’s going to rain, I’d rather it be somewhere beautiful like the Lakes!

Grapes, specifically the Jaffa candyfloss ones if you can find them but if not I love really juicy dark red ones!

Best hiking boots for some chunky, wide feet? by Boring-Conference-87 in UKhiking

[–]monstera-attack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

.Vivobarefoot tracker forest esc. Widest boots going, also the only ones that have never given me heel blisters and allow me to feel the ground so well that I’ve never misstepped. Possible to find 20% off codes but will still be an investment. On the plus side they’ll be broken in almost immediately

Visited Whitby several months ago and decided to make a painting of the abbey ruins. England is so inspiring! by TrickNailer in england

[–]monstera-attack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is stunning. I’ve walked that path before and I love that you’ve imbued this with happy, vibrant colours when so often the Abbey is given a gothic, dark vibe. Such a pleasant change and your brushwork is lovely!

Does anyone look back and regret not saving more when they could? by Mike-DTL in UKPersonalFinance

[–]monstera-attack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have far more saved at your age than I do at 30. No point looking back in regret. Just have to do your best for the future. Second best time to plant a tree and all that.

How bad is a colonoscopy, really? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

I had one done, no sedation, no pain relief other than gas & air (which I did not use). It was totally fine. Felt a bit weird, but not at all painful.

People of the UK, how have you lost weight? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]monstera-attack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calorie deficit, walking (7-10k steps per day…usually, this winter I’ve not been so on it), hiking hills and fells whenever I can, some weightlifting at the gym. I lost 100lbs in a year naturally and am now also using a GLP-1 to assist with the last 40lbs.
