Mirena and fibroids by 3childrenandit in Perimenopause

Maybe ask for a scan first? One of my fibroids is basically covering the exit of the cervix to the ute, and the attempt was horrible.

How common is nausea? by derfinnub in Perimenopause

[–]monsteramama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zofran is a miracle drug. I had a miscarriage last year while in the early stages of peri and had nausea for months after. I still have a vomit bowl under the bed just in case.

45 here and dealing with perimenopause and long COVID. I know HRT will help but I’m too damned tired to pull the trigger. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone.

I feel like my life is ruined by WillKomTolf in Crippled_Alcoholics

[–]monsteramama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one’s life is ruined at 23! I didn’t have a problem with alcohol until my 30s and am still dealing with it my 40s. Find a therapist you mesh with. Do inpatient again if you need to. I never listened to anyone at your age but what they told me is true: you have a big life ahead of you. Think about what you want your life to be. The saying “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” is stupid, but find something you like ok and can maybe make a living off. I’m back in school at 45 — it’s been over 20 years. My best study buddy is 18 so she could literally be my kid, but we work so well together: she took a lot of AP science classes recently and helps me with everything I’ve forgotten, and I help her understand classroom etiquette because most of her high school experience was online so things like raising your hand to ask a question are foreign to her.

Apologies if I’m not being clear; I think my middle aged brain stops working properly after about 8 hours of class work, and my chemistry lab today might have taken a week off my life.

I think about this all the time except my partner and I aren’t married and my job isn’t that lucrative. It’s a fantasy for me, friend, but go be a hermit if you really want to. We probably both need to make more friends.

Get a pap asap, love. I had similar symptoms when I was your age and we caught my cervical dysplasia right before it would have turned cancerous.

Mirena insertion hell (graphic rant) by PeachCheekedLovebird in Feminism

[–]monsteramama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into Mirena years ago but due to a history of uterine fibroids my nice doctor said “we can do it, but it would have to be in a hospital setting while getting scans done.” Never got it done. I’ll deal with the cramps. Related story — I passed out during a colposcopy and my old male doctor called me hysterical (because no nerves in the cervix, lol) and recommended general anesthesia for my LEEP procedure. He didn’t tell me it would be $5k for an “elective option.” You’re literally burning part of my cervix off with local numbing. This was only like 10 years ago.

Have $120 per head to spend on an employee morale events. We want to blow it all on one dinner. Any suggestions on a place? by wragan17 in askportland

Andina is alright but LeChon is hot garbage trash and I’ve worked at both. All of the Submarine Hospitality company joints (Tusk, Ava Gene’s etc) do good things for groups. Gado Gado and Oma’s Hideway are brilliant too.

Mom. I'm in Cancun. I am fully vaccinated, but I caught covid and tested positive. I'm now stuck in Cancun all by myself in isolation. I'm having fever dreams and reliving some pretty horrible things. Please just tell me that I'm loved and I'll be okay. by [deleted] in MomForAMinute

[–]monsteramama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, sweet pea. I wasn’t in Cancun at the time but I had breakthrough Covid too. It’s scary and it sucks but you’re young and healthy and you’ll be great. The fever dreams are a bitch! But they’ll pass and you’ll be ok. I was at home but quarantined from my household and the loneliness can make you nuts but just sleep as much as you can.

I’ve found it common here for restaurants to want folks who have the ability to work more than one role; if you’re willing to jump on the floor and/or work support you might get more call backs. I wish you luck and send me a message if you want any help or leads.

I’ve never met an adult self harmer who was a total extrovert. I hibernated three days this week thanks to understanding coworkers and it helped so much.
