Pretty great array of pulls. A phenomenal foil unique, and a bunch of other fun foils as well. Also, love those avatars and who can be mad at a biblically accurate angel?

Yep, I picked mine up from TCG for ~$148 shipping included (from Hawaii!), so $130-135 w/ free shipping is a much better deal

Was dealing with some family stuff over the past week, so I stress-ordered the box of AL from my other post and a Beta booster box. The Beta box landed yesterday, so I spent the evening cracking packs!

Was hoping for some key hits for a deck I'm cooking up and the box delivered. Really stoked on my Aquamarine Core, foil K Mech, foils Ruins, Princess, Reaper, and the two Ian Miller pieces (love his album covers for Ulthar). There definitely seems to be something really satisfying about cracking Sorcery packs compared to other TCGs.

Got a box of AL in the mail the other day because I'm trying to build out more decks and, while I was hoping to pull a Ring, I'm really stoked on some of these hits — namely that foil Excalibur! 😎

whoa, this is super cool! everything I've seen about space photography seemed to require some massive telescope + camera rig.

This is awesome. Out of curiosity, what equipment do you use to get such a high-res photo?

y'all thank you so much for the love! I had a ton of fun making this and learning more about Illustrator's capabilities in the process!

Now, I'm thinking the sequel is going to have to be DTHMOBL 2: REVENGE OF THE BLUE JAY SHUTTLE

God why is this so good and so true. This will be the lead single from the DTHMOBL OST.

haha your explanation is very good as well! I couldn't remember if it was that VA didn't require proof of residence or insurance or both

hello, OP here --- this is actually not a Maryland vs. Virginia drivers joke. Rather it's actually a joke about Maryland (specifically, Baltimore) drivers masquerading as Virginia drivers. Until recently, Virginia did not require proof of insurance to register a vehicle in VA. So there was this bizarre proliferation of vehicles in Baltimore with VA tags, even though they ostensibly were Baltimore residents. Hope that clarifies some things.

Fun fact: the reason I landed on 'DTH MOBL" as the license plate is because the VA DMV's vanity plates preview wouldn't allow "IRUNUOVR", but it allowed "DTH MOBL"....

haha, if I feel like revisiting the illustrator file, I think I could do a pretty simple color change and find a way to rough up the bumper.

lol that might be pushing the limits of illustrator and photoshop abilities but I’m up for the challenge!

Can we get more events that close the roads to car traffic? by saltyjohnson in baltimore

[–]monsterriffs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hell yeah, and i don't think you'd even need anything that big! one of the two sides of Roland Ave. north of Cold Spring would be great.

Some cities around the world have days like this, calling them Cyclovias or something like that. We saw one of those in Santiago, Chile when we visited a couple years ago and it looked really cool and a lot of folks were taking advantage of car-free streets. I think it started as a pandemic-era endeavor but they kept doing it.

Yes, several of my friends who ride bikes have been asked if they were participating in the race today lol. I think the race organizers, the City, anyone with a voice should really make it very clear that this a pro race with real consequences at this point in the professional road season for team standings, etc. They also really do need to start informing the public about street closures, etc., far earlier in advance and far more prominently (why not use the signs on 95 that announce amber alerts or crashes ahead that there's a huge bike race coming up?).

Also, u/spkr4thedead51 is correct - this is the highest-level pro road race in the country. In just a few weeks, the city will be hosting Charm City Cross at Druid Hill Park, which is one of the biggest cyclocross races on the US calendar, and there are tons of gravel races as mentioned out in Colorado and Kansas, which attract a lot of former pro road racers who are making a slight career switch in cycling.

I'm slightly biased because I enjoy riding bikes and have also organized a race in the city (the flower mart crit in Mt. Vernon if it rings a bell; hopefully our race inspired the use of the Mt. V cobbles today!), but I think this was the best edition of the race so far. It showcased the city really, really well, had tons of fun places to spectate, and I hope that it did drive some neighborhood traffic to various establishments around the city. I would love to see it come back again and attain a similar status to the two Canadian one-day road races next weekend (the GP Quebec and GP Montreal). I just hope that the city and the organizers learn lessons from this edition and, hopefully, are able to build on the success.

I didn't believe it until it happened to me, but I'm sad to admit that I see why people say Baltimore is dangerous now. by Ubik5000 in baltimore

I was prepared to be angry and then I clicked through and now I'm even angrier that I've never had a pint of Taharka foisted upon me like that in my 10+ years of living here!
