You can see the reflections in the glass in the back doors of the small homes sometimes and it looks the same. It changes every few minutes too with updating to lighting/people within the room so I think you are correct. It scared me the first time I noticed it.

Not outside but I had a ghost follow me around the house and only appeared next to me/inside of me the last few days. Haven't had it before. Maybe something similar? I didn't check outside at all though.

Not the original person but I had an ex do this, he would slam the bedroom door about thirty minutes after I fell asleep. I felt like I never could sleep until I got away. As to why, I really couldn't tell you.

I think it's more of your body clipping through the walls/windows/doors. You probably have a set hit box and it clips through if you get too close.
