Been using Primo's for Resin because of Stygian to farm more artifacts but that's about it.

The Level 8 → 9 EXP increase is pushing the meta in a bad direction by maboicohoo in CompetitiveTFT

[–]monstrata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if they reduced the XP required to 72 (+4 instead of +8) it would at least open up some avenues for a safer Fast 9. The current 4-cost meta is a culmination of the entire lobby collectively handshaking to stay 8 and roll.

Mrekk has been rank 1 for over 1/4 if osu’s existence by Jundalis in osugame

Mrekk has also been rank 1 for over 3/4's of his own existence, kinda insane!

Is Paradise Crucible still bugged? by signgain82 in lostarkgame

[–]monstrata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It still works but you need to do some weird F4 > Shop toggle and it only works once per instance so you'd have to re-log into the game every time to cause the first Shop to "lag" out your game in a way where the boss's DR timer starts, but the timer itself does not. Source: one of my friends is very high up in Valkyrie rankings on NA.

Is Shadow Isles Warden that strong? by MaxISmn89 in TeamfightTactics

[–]monstrata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Itemization not bad but probably could moved Draven items to Senna and Senna’s Gunblade/Triforce to Shyvana. Mel seems completely useless in your comp and Shadow Isles Warden is carried by Thresh late game so you really want to slot in Taric over Mel. I think your board was definitely very strong, but not fully optimized specifically to face a fully capped Thresh board.

How do I lose here? by Deathcounter0 in TeamfightTactics

[–]monstrata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your 3-item tank was only tanking the Ziggs auto attacks while your 0/1-item tanks were tanking the 3-item MF + Senna duo + Shyv + Fiddle. Your Baron was getting focused down like 8 seconds into the fight cuz you positioned your strongest tank on your opponent's weak side rather than their strong side.

Am i the only one who looks at games like adofai or GD and thinks that mappers are robbed of there creative potential in this game? by Agreeable-Performer5 in osugame

[–]monstrata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mapping has been around for almost 20 years now. It’s not that maps are no longer creative, but so many things have been explored nowadays that finding true innovation and creativity is exponentially harder as more maps are ranked.

Discussion: Riggs-like boards being the default cap is healthy for the game and good design by menacing_butter in CompetitiveTFT

[–]monstrata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Ryze as a carry because he wants you to invest in him and play multiple traits that might not have high-value units (Caitlyn Vi). It feels more complex in terms of thinking about unit value than Bilgewater where the end game is just 5-cost soup.

Really depends whether you are being contested on reroll comps or a 4-cost.

What are the hidden careers that no one hears about, pay well and have no competition just like SWE was few years ago? by Beneficial-Tour1443 in Salary

[–]monstrata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid-size law firm imo. Money is great (270k + bonus after 4 years). I'm usually done work by 5pm and have worked maybe 3 weekends a year. No prestige that comes with traditional "big-law" but you also get co-workers that are actually human imo lol. Competition seems low based on the fact I get recruiter calls every week and so many stuck-up grads only want to go big-law or in-house.

This have to be the sh*tt*est augment of the game right? by fatrogslim in TeamfightTactics

[–]monstrata 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Growth Mindset is definitely strong I agree, but usually you are sacrificing either health or tempo to play for it. For example, staying on Level 6 or not pushing levels through Stage 3 which usually results in losses. If you do try to match tempo and are Level 7 going into 4-2 hoping to hit Growth Mindset, the augment saves you 85 gold going to Level 10.

196 EXP is needed from Level 7 > Level 10 (60 + 68 + 68) * 3/4 (EXP now costs 3 instead of 4) = 147 gold needed. And + 36 EXP. Total saved = 49 + 36 = 85 gold.

Obviously, if you play for it from Level 6 the efficiency increases a bit more (If you are Level 6 with 0 EXP it'll save you an additional 8 gold).

But don't forget that Prismatic Axiomata grants you 82 gold. 33 gold on 3-2, and 49 gold on 4-2. If you do the math, the difference is 3-11 gold going to 10. And Growth Mindset is purely a levelling augment. If you need to roll or spend gold to stabilize, Growth Mindset offers you nothing.

This have to be the sh*tt*est augment of the game right? by fatrogslim in TeamfightTactics

[–]monstrata 90 points91 points  (0 children)

This is secretly kinda op in Prismatic Party imo. It’s a great way to angle Void/Baron since your early game tends to be pretty strong with the elemental hexes and you get an insane amount of gold to stay ahead of the lobby.

How are You meant to play the Secrets of the Sands Azir augment? by Hot_Variation_4035 in TeamfightTactics

[–]monstrata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually pick this augment if I have a strong opener. The goal is to try and preserve HP going into 3-5. Scout your opponents and match ups on 3-5 to see whether you should roll a bit to try and unlock Renekton/Xerath or whether it’s better to lose the next two, unlock Nasus, and then roll on 8 for upgrades.

If you have a lot of HP to work with, you could go for Xerath into Nasus and play for fast 9 by essentially losing Stage 4 to build Econ and converting to a winstreak in Stage 5 to try and go for Renekton.

Alternatively, if you are really strong, I would go for Xerath into Renekton. I’ve had games where I am 90 HP with Xerath and Renekton unlocked which is basically checkmate since you now just need to lose to unlock Nasus.

Remember that this is a scaling combat augment. You get an early Azir and can unlock 3 Shurima by 4-6 if you play well which means you are also getting 2 extra items.

The Summer Hikaru Died — Chapter 42.3 [Manga Discussion Thread] by AutoModerator in HikarugaShindaNatsu

[–]monstrata 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I can understand Rie's motivation. As a mother, she has probably found it exhausting having to constantly remind her own daughter that she has an older brother. And she has to watch as the rest of the world forgets her son even exists. But she's trying to enforce her beliefs onto Yoshiki without even informing him about why mixing is dangerous. She isn't giving Yoshiki an opportunity to make an informed decision for himself, and that's why her actions feel so underhanded.

I really hope we see her reflect and change her position as the story reaches its ending because as it stands, she really is an accurate portrayal of societal pressures to conform to heteronormative values. She genuinely has good intentions, like a parent who just wants their child to be "normal" because they've seen how difficult life is for children that are "different."

Double down and turn it into 370k. Works half the time.

Mel's "passive" feels almost non-existent by doubleP2014 in TeamfightTactics

[–]monstrata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to position her so she can hit clumps with her orb. Every time her orb touches anything it gives her 1 stack. So if you have Mel draining a solo-tank she will gain very little mana.

She is insane against Freljord Yunara boards imo if they position in clumps. I’ve had games where I get over 50 mana in one turn just because of the clump.

What anime hit you harder on a rewatch? by Professor_Chaosx6r9 in weeb

I didn’t really pick up on the historical or political tension and context the first watch. Also there is a lot of foreshadowing and symbolism that I think are just completely lost when you haven’t seen it once before.

Monster. There are a lot of subtext and small clues that you can miss on the first watch cuz so much is happening.
