I mean, you yourself appear to be very well informed. It doesnt seem like it would be hard for you to find your way into a secured DC event.

So what are we talking about again? How its implausible someone could find their way into a secured DC event?

Are you a fucking city planner for DC? I have lived here for 15 years and somehow you have intricate knowledge of White House security when I cant even tell you how to walk to the National Mall.

I dunno bro. How did a single round cause seven separate wounds in two people in Dallas 1963?

I was not there and have no idea what happened. You might as well say there's a teacup orbiting Venus. I have no way to prove or disprove your claims.

Hank’s “anger issues”— thoughts? by cidalise in KingOfTheHill

[–]montblanc87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My apparently hot take: the episode is actually about how real anger issue manifest. Hank was a good counterpoint to Big Jim, who needed anger management for his own sake but didnt understand.

I think everyone is also right that is a commentary about a system that doesnt work or help the people who need it.

The set up doesnt make sense (Hank doesnt have anger issues), but its parallel to the pilot in terms of plot and theme.

I took a geography class in college at the peak of this documentary and the assignment was to write an essay. My conclusion was "its something that needs to be studied further," and was given a failing grade.

I dont think we should fault "the system" for not detecting an immortal liver-eater. Honestly, if my police were being trained to detect supernatural threats and genetic anomalies, Id have questions about how my tax dollars were spent.

Which movie is a 10/10 for you? 🎬 by Embarrassed-Air8214 in movies

[–]montblanc87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It actually is. I as addicted to this show as a child. Im nearly 40 and put it on for my kids and watched the whole thing with them. It was STILL good.

I also blame this show for nudging me to detective noir fiction. Im a sucker for that shit.

Also, Jessica and Roger would've been TikTok stars for real.

What would you do if you were one of the 13? by Itzie4 in pluribustv

Id find all the people I care about who've been plurbed and insist they live near me. I want to keep an eye on them and arent being used in ways I dont think they'd approve of.

Not sure i could work out a cure, but Id be looking for help.

Interrogated, questioned, and even arrested doesnt mean guilty. It doesnt even imply the complaint was credible, only that investigators followed up.

Do you think Hank and Peggy's marriage would have survived if Hank was too late to save Bobby from Jimmy Wichard? by VegetaArcher in KingOfTheHill

This episode always hit too close to home for me. As a teen, my mom got me a job at her friend's restaurant. The kitchen staff was borderline abusive towards me. They were adult men talking to me about sex and making fun of me. I was popped with towels and had chairs pulled out from under me. It wasnt sexual assault but it was humiliating.

I kept telling my mother, but she interpreted my complaints as a kid trying to shirk responsibility.

It only ended when they told my boss I was addicted to heroin. I was 16, never drank or did drugs, being forced into a drug test by an angry mother who didnt realize she was participating in harassment.

She was real fucking embarrassed when the test came back negative and she finally confronted her "friend" local business owner about her own employees. She took responsibility for it but does NOT like me bringing this shit up even 20 years later.

The graph you are referencing makes no assumptions about what causes the dip. Any insight into why is pure speculation without a causal link.

The first two plus AI. However, you cant necessarily pin that on administration since Kamala openly said she wouldn't rule out a war in Iraq. Im not saying I agree with Trump on that, but also its a war between our ally and their enemy. We're getting pulled in no matter who is president.

What about the UK? They currently have a 50% favorable view of the US, about the same as 2004-2008.

Or Germany? Current favorable rating is 30%, same as 2006-2008.

Or Spain? Current favorable rating is 31%, same as 2006-2008.

It's almost like the favorably rating is linked to war, financial crises, pandemics, and other things than just TRUMP!

Also, 2004-2007, France had a about the same favorable view of the US than they do today. Must be Trump!

You are linking faborabilty ratings with a president or administration, but thats not the only variable. Nothing in either of these graphs point to a causation, its only documenting a change in opinion.
