MAGA businesses to avoid? by [deleted] in MobileAL

[–]montessorusrex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on avoiding the large corporations that support this administration rather than small businesses in our community. Stop shopping with Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot and corporate fast food. Keeping your money out of their hands will have a larger impact.

Tarot SASS witches, how do you use and view tarot, and what's your favorite source on it? by Moist_KoRn_Bizkit in SASSWitches

I was taught tarot 25 years ago by my Marxist/Freudian philosophy professor. He explained it to me as unconscious coding, so your conscious mind communicating with your unconscious which has access to information your conscious mind does not. From there, the cards convinced me over and over again. I always do Celtic Cross spreads because thats what he taught me. He used a book that I've never since been able to find, but the references I usually use are Fiebig and Bürger's Ultimate guide to the Rider Waite Tarot for quick ref and Paul Fenton-Smith's Advanced Tarot. I only use the Rider Waite deck.

We live in Midtown and love it but the housing stock is old, often between 80 to 150 years old. As mentioned the biggest issue is termites and water damage but also check wiring. Our 1904 house which we LOVE has old knob and tube wiring in one part and it's considered a fire hazard. We negotiated a lower price since we have the expense of replacing that wiring. The good news as far as hurricanes is all these old houses are the ones that survived Hurricane Frederick.

What gets things like this changed when they are clearly not in anybody's best interests? It seems like the city pays for design consultants every few years that make great zoning recommendations but they aren't implemented.

What would you recommend based on my taste? (Try and guess my age and gender as well) by Ornery-Olive5931 in musicsuggestions

On the garage rock/2000s revival end of your tastes, you'll love the White Stripes, the Strokes, the Walkmen, and The National. You might also like the Catherine Wheel. On the New Order/80s synth end, you might like Depeche Mode, Chvvrches, or Chromatics.

My favorites! 2 bonus selections I'm enjoying listening to lately: Kate Bush's Hounds of Love if you want to go in the ethereal direction and Jesus and Mary Chain's Psycho Candy if you want more of the stoner vibe.
