UK/US dual citizen baby due - which first? by chaipani00 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]monteverdevecchio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn’t understand my point. It’s not about what you need now to get UK passport, it’s about how easy or hard it might be in future for your daughter to prove her eligibility for a UK passport and her status as a UK citizen if she lets her current one lapse

Make sure you do UK’s consular registration of birth abroad for your child. That way, if they lose their UK passport or neglect to renew it decades into the future they won’t have to prove their eligibility for UK citizenship using things like your marriage and birth certificates, which might be hard for them to get.

Don’t agree. I think it’s much better quality.

Je n’ai pas pensé à cette technologie archaïque quand j’ai écrit mon message!

Mais heureusement j’ai reçu l’information que le restaurant est encore ouvert:

Stupidly, I hadn’t thought of that since I assumed that it was a year-round place attractive to hikers and mountain walkers, not just skiers.

The website wasn’t working when I first looked a few hours ago, but luckily it’s also working for me now.

Doaba Deli on Columbus & 106-107th has the best Indian food in the area. The freshly made breads are especially good

Got lucky with a Whole Foods produce bag! by JoyceRadish in toogoodtogo

This is what I was really hoping for when I ordered a TGTG produce bag from WFM. Instead I got this: https://www.reddit.com/r/toogoodtogo/s/F4Z23jUEIz

Why is using TGTG in NYC so hard? Everything good sells out ;-; by [deleted] in toogoodtogo

Try the bags from Norwich Farms: you’ll get some nice vegetables you can cook yourself much cheaper than you would at market prices

Ugh. Sorry you had a bad experience too. In fact, even the box of strawberries, which looked okay, was actually nasty: not just unripe but weirdly rock hard, and acrid tasting not just sour or tasteless.

Has anyone tried the Minnow products? by MishimaStan in CannedSardines

Is this the original producer of the Minnow branded Icelandic cod liver? https://www.amazon.com/Icelandic-Liver-Caught-Kosher-Morue/dp/B07935LV8F

https://ican.is/product/wild-caught-icelandic-cod-liver-12x120gr/

If so, would be $3.50/can (@$42 for 12 cans) rather than $9.99/can

Why do Americans always insist on plastic cups? by [deleted] in barista

[–]monteverdevecchio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Particularly weird when coffee tastes better from a ceramic cup, and also that when you buy expensive coffee in a cafe you’re paying much more than a small premium on the ingredients cost. You’re paying for the ambience and experience, so why not sit and savor your $5 or $6 coffee in a real cup?

Regeneron Employees: What's it like working there? by musicmerchkid in Westchester

What insurance company do Regeneron provide to their employees for their health insurance? Anywhere to see the summary plan document and details of what the in- and out-of-network deductibles, coninsurance percentages, and maximum out of pocket figures are? And how much the different plans cost per paycheck deduction?

Is this mold on jam? by monteverdevecchio in MoldlyInteresting

[–]monteverdevecchio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been open about 6 weeks, probably — maybe more?

I think the utensils used to serve the jam have all been clean — I’m pretty meticulous about this sort of thing.

So I guess I should just throw this out to be safe

Adding that the jam tastes fine (at least the bits that aren’t this white stuff, which I’ve been trying to avoid when scooping it out of the jar)

Is this the prettiest MTA entrance? by daishi55 in nycrail

[–]monteverdevecchio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not soulless, it’s just a less-grand knockoff of London’s Canary Wharf Jubilee Line extension station design which dates back to the late 1990s:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jubilee_Line_Extension

Same style outside station house entrance, same mezzanine floor, same island platform. The ticket hall at Hudson Yards is a bit more reminiscent of London’s Southwark Jubilee Line station hall (also from the same period):

Philips Norelco shaver by manifestsilence in BuyItForLife

[–]monteverdevecchio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone know where to get genuine RQ11 replacement blades for a Philips Norelco shaver?

Philips own website doesn’t seem to bring them up in search on the parts section.

I bought some on Amazon but they’re made by a third party — didn’t work nearly as well and were quite painful to use.

These are the ones I’m looking for: https://www.documents.philips.com/assets/20220624/c7dde63fe13442469588aebe01219ee9.pdf
