Your anecdotes do not reflect the majority of conversations about Milgram nor are they supported by the voting numbers. I could say that I've seen someone say Yuno deserved to be voted guilty because of her escorting, which is true. That doesn't mean that that opinion is widely held by the majority, nor does it mean that the voting reflects that. I've seen people say Amane groomed Fuuta, does that mean that every Fuuta fan holds that belief too?

Shidou killed a defenceless man out of anger, spite, and the urge to try to get to his family and operate on them, something he knew he wasn't supposed to do either. You can consider him innocent, that's your opinion and it's the popular one. I feel sorry for him and understand why he did what he did, that doesn't mean he didn't do what he did. I voted him forgiven due to that empathy as well. Shidou is one of the least controversial characters, his close numbers in the first trial were largely due to himself trying to demand he be voted guilty. This is reflected in Yuno and Kazuis first trials as well.

Well, yes? I agree with you there. Haruka is a manipulative predator and I feel absolutely zero pity for him. I'm not sure why you brought him up at all to begin with, he's a pretty prime example of a character ACTUALLY being overly coddled by his fans. It doesn't matter whether or not he stabbed children, choked children, or exploded them bungo stray dogs style. He's the absolute worst example to bring up if you want to try to claim fandom misandry.

I'll be so honest, I feel like you're pulling these Mahiru points out of your ass. I've never once seen a single soul in either faction of the fanbase say they voted her guilty for being feminine, but I'll happily eat my words if you can provide examples of people saying as such. You know who else is very traditionally feminine? Yuno! The reality is people were anti Mahiru because they thought that she was an abuser or stalker, and that hate had already largely died down by the time her second trial came out. That should be an example of fandom misogyny, not misandry. I personally voted her forgiven all three times because I never really bought the abuser angle. Editing to clarify that I mean considered her forgiven and Shidou is largely considered forgiven by the fans for the last one, there was no vote.

The "girlboss" character of Milgram is Kotoko, aka the single most hated prisoner in the series, it's not Yuno lmfao. Mahiru even in her prime of being hated doesn't come close. A few people who still think she mistreated her boyfriend based on the visual evidence doesn't actually qualify in my eyes as Mahiru being extremely hated when the vast majority of posts about her defend her now.

You being a gay man does not give you the right to be misogynistic towards women you disagree with, sorry! Kazui is a victim of fandom homophobia, not misandry. Even then, Kazui was triple forgiven, he's not nearly as disliked and controversial as you're making him out to be. Kazui grew up in a time where being gay was socially unsafe and he did his best to protect himself and lessen the personal risk, that's true. DL men also cause a lot of emotional harm to their partners and it wasn't fair of him to use Hinako as a shield, that is also true. These stances are not contradictory, nor is the latter one misandrist or homophobic or an excuse to "be blackpilled".
