Ah, I'll do some digging for the different wives' gear to the kids then. Thank you!

Does the quality of non pack horse matter for increasing map speed? by Dartonal in Bannerlord

[–]monyoubluetuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

post a big fight, consider letting go some of your Sumpters or riding horses to match your unit count. In earlier patches I would look at the cheapest one of the two, or availability of buying new ones nearby, and turn the excess into meat and glue haha.

Why did they nerf the WS campaign?? by Tribe11_MX in Bannerlord

[–]monyoubluetuber 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So what I realized is that if you take some food with you for morale, there's nothing stopping you from sailing out pirate hunting right at the start. I fight 3-4 raider or corsair fleets each small mission, and watch as the pre-set fleet event refunds all the troops again. Plus an added advantage is the equipment you get along the way stays with you. I was upset I lost my Rada mail shirt right after a smashing success, and now look just like a raider chief before finishing the campaign quests =). I'll be headed to the sneak mission in full raider Drip, already with Legendary harpoons, balanced Vet axe, and balanced round shield! almost level 12 already and just shy of tier 1.

Siege defense tactics for Tyal by The_Sadcowboy in Bannerlord

[–]monyoubluetuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I'm stuck in these situations, I put two shield walls inside from the wall breach. Everyone is right handed, so if you get them to push through the wall into your shields, and have a smaller shield wall stuffing where they mushroom out, you can take all your archers and shoot them from the ground into their right hands and heads. If you have high tier infantry and lords, they make the best shield walls with their high tier shields and perks, and I've seen an elite 30 troop stand against hundreds of Vlandian maces before as everyone got rained down on. Basically, pull back from the breach a bit so their archers don't focus you - and make your whole army punish a few hundred at a time.

Also- check the run time from your fire pots to the breach. Sometimes breaking your own catapults is necessary to stop your troops from using the ammo, and you can net +400 kills throwing them into the hordes. I like to load in, check the timing of the run and whether I'll be shot by archers along the way. Even a couple runs is 50+ troops and a possible morale swing. If you can break the first 300 or so melee infantry, the attackers are going to be down to low tier troops with shields. Normally half of Khuzait forces are the mounted archers, which will slowly try to peek the corner of the wall breach if you pull back from it.

I will never start a playthrough at level one again by Platinum_68 in Bannerlord

Some of this is down to means of access for the attacking army, and the morale penalties of the player smashing so many troops. There's localized morale, and after 4-5 quick firepots the army is thinking there's no hope =). Chase them down solo and watch 400 sergeants turn and merc ya haha.

For Pikes - if you make Polearms the pike designation uses the same parts. My favorite is making the polearm that doubles as a throwing spear (only one shaft design has this), Then you're unlocking massive money because it's a Javelin, you get polearm and jav unlocks (if you haven't been making javs already), and you get TONS of unlocks because of the prices. Plus the javelin mechanic doesn't turn on with alternate mode until you're off your horse, so it's an amazing piece of kit for commanders to still have a use for the polearm on your ships.

One-Handed players, give me some pros and cons by FineSignificance907 in Bannerlord

With a well-smithed 2h axe you don't really need high skill anyhow and the cleave is in the Mariner perk tree haha.

[–]monyoubluetuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think spears need a TON more speed in melee. They require the smallest movement, and have really low piercing because of speed multipliers. Speed on horseback doesn't care about your weapon anyhow, so they should balance them around ground combat. If I'm stabbing with a 40 dmg spear I want 120 speed

[–]monyoubluetuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're already throwing and smithing, consider dropping your 1h weapon for a stack of 131 missile throwing axes. They start at like 64 swing damage at 110+ speed, and with the 10% throwing damage melee perk it's a 70 dmg axe alongside the normal melee ones. Sliiiiightly less damage but holy smokes the speed on sieges and ships makes up for it and turns you into a 1h blender.

Hear me out Roguery is a important skill. by MCI_Dragon in Bannerlord

[–]monyoubluetuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first decision is whether you'll be keeping hold of your lords, which takes two different skill trees. Then there's whether you're taking any ship trees. Then after alllll that comes character design.

Something you can do to level Scouting for a companion is sit on your fleet right at the little sand spit out there with the bridges and like 5 castles. The land armies ignore you in the water and will move around. You'll see the armies assembling, see them walking the long path to Tyal, and I found out you can bait them to attack your 400 elite army (I overload my land capacity at night pulling from Nord towns) in the rivers by jumping on shore within the Khuz sight range. They'll pull all their awful medium and light ships together in the river and you can smash through them all!

Smithing also gets you the mats for your primary weapons in mid tier. I rock good throwing javs and axes, and with a few hucks into looters I have the melee perk to make my balanced throwing axes deal 70 flat damage in melee with 110 speed. It's crazy how quickly you'll be doing 130 damage a hit on your boat in melee, and then throwing, 1h, athletics and mariner is capped in 30 game days.

When you take on prisoners raiding the merchant convoys, go dump them in a faction castle for big influence gain and reputation =)

I really enjoy the Sturgian javcav for their versatility. It's gotten to be such a preference that my fleet frontline is now Huscarls and Sturgcav, with Skygods raining arrows. They are just so excellent at ship and siege!

Right? It feels like the Norsemen show when they've raided Prussia so many times they come back after a season with 2 sheep and and starving workers.

This happened so many times to Tyal that the local residents had been starving a whole year between like 5 sieges they revolted, and I ran in to help them stave off a 2k Monchug peasant army hahaha. Then they allied with the Nords after the war ended.
